After Roksana's execution, when it was Perlie and Maggie's turn, they were attacked by walkers, including walker Roksana, who killed Navarez. Perlie, Ginny, Maggie, and Hershel managed to escape the attack when Bruegel suddenly encountered them. Elsewhere, Ginny managed to hide a wound from Maggie and others. Who killed the Dama's rat? After the chaotic walker attack, Maggie (Lauren Cohen) and her group reluctantly accepted Bruegel's (Kim Coates) offer of taking shelter in his den. Despite his charm and goodwill, Maggie remained suspicious because she knew he had worked with the Croat, and his deals often came with hidden costs. Her instincts were proven right when a mysterious, unseen creature dragged one of Bruegel's soldiers away.

While Bruegel offered to help them eliminate the Croat and the Dama's forces in exchange for future allegiance against New Babylon, Maggie stayed wary. Perlie, on the other hand, considered the deal. He saw Bruegel as a means to an end and sensed Maggie's inner conflict regarding Negan's fate. Meanwhile, Ginny (Mahina Napolean), wounded during the walker attack, hid her injuries.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 6 recap: Negan vs the Croat

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), still grappling with the consequences of his past, confronted a disoriented Croat after the death of the Dama. Although the Croat claimed he had no choice but to watch the Dama die helplessly, Negan's suspicion deepened. When the Croat discovered Negan's boot print near the Dama's dead rat, he became furious and confronted Negan. He took Negan's Lucille 2.0 and began hitting him, however, Negan retaliated with brutal force, leaving the Croat severely wounded. Negan didn't kill the Croat and instead asked him to leave.

Later, Negan wandered down to the dungeon beneath the sanctuary, where he found Benjamin Pierce (Keir Gilchrist), who had been locked in the prison for days, without food. Negan freed him and offered water along with an apology. Their conversation turned introspective with Negan acknowledging his monstrosity.

Maggie's bond with his son Hershel reached a breaking point at Bruegel's den. Hershel, already brainwashed by the Dama, attempted to poison New Babylon's water supply. Maggie caught him mid-act, and their confrontation revealed that Hershel no longer felt safe with her. He expressed his desire to join the Dama. The emotional fallout was interrupted by the growls of Bruegel's trapped mysterious creature- a one-eyed grizzly bear. Maggie tried to lure it into the walker pit and released Bruegel's fighters. But they did not stand a chance against the bloodthirsty bear. Hershel used his knife-throwing skills to severely injure the bear and save Maggie. But before Maggie could thank Hershel, he escaped.

When Maggie started to track Hershel, she met Negan. He told her Hershel wasn't there but suggested checking the King Francis Theatre. Before she left, Maggie warned him that Bruegel was secretly plotting against them. Negan stood confused, and he confessed he didn't know whether to escape with his family or send them away to Tennessee to keep them protected. Negan later saw his wife and child arrive at the dock, but he made up his mind to send them away without him.

What happened to Ginny in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 6?

When Perlie met Bruegel, Bruegel revealed that he had trapped the walker Navarez as a grim trophy. Bruegel also claimed that Navarez revealed all the secrets and plans of New Babylon and its members. Bruegel makes it clear that his ultimate goal is to obtain the methane at any cost.

But it was Ginny who delivered the episode's emotional gut punch. Just as she pulled out a gun on Negan outside a church, she collapsed. The infection from her wound had spread. Negan broke down as he once again failed someone he cared for.
