The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 7 recap: Is The Dama dead or alive?

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 7, titled Novi Dan, Novi Pocetak released on June 15, 2025, on AMC and AMC+. This penultimate episode was filled with hallucinations, facing fear, and a mind-blogging, unexpected twist. Previously, we saw how Hershel ran away to find the Dama after he argued with Maggie, and they fought a grizzly bear in Bruegel's den.

After the Dama's apparent death, the Croat was visibly upset and disoriented. Meanwhile, Negan decided to stay back in Manhattan and send his family back to Tennessee from the port. In the closing scenes of the previous episode, we saw how Ginny pointed a gun at Negan to kill him. However, before she could pull the trigger, she collapsed due to the infection.

Episode 7 of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 delves into Maggie's relentless search for her son Hershel while she discovers a disturbing truth about The Dama. On the other hand, Negan tries his best to secure medicines from the walker-infested Bellevue Hospital to heal Ginny.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 7: Is the Dama dead or alive?

Previously, in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 5, we saw how the Dama was 'almost' burnt to death after she argued with the Croat over her dead rat. But is the Dama really dead? Here's what we know

Episode 7 opened with Maggie following the trail of her missing son, Hershel. Their last encounter had ended in heartbreak and violence, with Hershel leaving her behind for the manipulative Dama. When Maggie reached the King Francis Theatre to find her son, she couldn't locate Hershel or the Dama. Instead, she met the Croat, who looked quite disoriented after the Dama's death.

Desperate and ruthless, Maggie threatened him with torture unless he revealed Hershel's whereabouts. The Croat told her that he knew nothing about Hershel but proposed a sketchy alliance. They navigated the crumbling Manhattan city to search for Hershel. On their dangerous adventure, the Croat shared several details about his past, including his childhood, mother, and how the Dama manipulated him using his misery.

However, the greatest shock came at the end. After a harrowing climb and an emotional reunion with Hershel at the New York Times Building, Maggie's relief seemed short-lived. The Dama reappeared bearing half-burned hair and knocked Maggie down before she could react. Yes! The Dama is still alive and thriving- she survived the fire and remains as dangerous as ever.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 7: Can Negan save Ginny?

When Ginny's conditions worsened, Negan was haunted by his late wife Lucille's memories. He undertook a dangerous mission to procure medicines from the Bellevue Hospital. When Negan reached the location, he found that the hospital premises were filled with walkers; however, when he went inside, it was uncomfortably quiet.

Negan found a child walker who pushed him, which made him trip and hit a metal sink. When he woke up from the injury, he saw that the child walker was on top of him. He slowly made his way to the pediatric ward and finally to the operating room. However, he saw another hoarder running away with the supplies, and he chased him through a room full of walker children. When he finally got hold of the hoarder, he saw that the bag was empty and the hoarder wasn't human but a walker.

Negan gets a jolt of hallucinations about Annie, his second wife; Joshua, his only child; and Ginny. He manages to get hold of the machine that Ginny needs and leaves the hospital.

Negan then gets Ginny hooked to the machine and instructs Pierce to leave the church before Bruegel's attack. Negan, on the other hand, helpless and determined to save Ginny, chooses to stay back.
