The Amazing Race Season 37's most recent elimination was featured on the show's tenth episode. It was Brett and Mark. After their elimination, the show advanced to the next phase with the remaining four teams.
In their May 8, 2025, interview with US Magazine, Brett Hamby and Mark Romain opened up about the elimination and how it happened. Fans witnessed the duo losing their sense of direction and then running into navigational issues.
In the end, they failed to arrive at the designated pit stop, which resulted in their elimination. The Amazing Race's Mark shared with the US Magazine:
"There were two of the same address, 11 Council to Europe, and we triple-checked to make sure we were going to the right one. We somehow ended up getting directions to the wrong one."
The Amazing Race Season 37: Brett and Mark opened up about their recent elimination
Mark and Brett recently appeared for an interview with US Magazine and opened up about their elimination. After arriving last at the cheese shop, the duo received a ten-minute penalty. While the series of challenges ended, Brett and Mark were the last team to arrive at the pit stop.
The reason was navigational issues; as they lost their way, it took them quite some time to find their way back. The rest of the four teams reached the pit stop before Brett and Mark; hence, they were eliminated.
It all started when The Amazing Race participants were instructed to reach the Council of Europe. Mark recalled that there were two Council of Europe locations in Strasbourg. Each of them was on opposite ends of the city.
"One's on one side of the city and one's on the other side of the city. Same address, same address, different zip code, same exact address," added Mark.
Agreeing to that, Brett mentioned how they were aware of the two addresses with the same name, and they also tried to avoid any mixup. However, they were unsuccessful with that and ended up going to the wrong place.
He added that the first stop that they reached was not shown in the show's final cut.
"It was a bunch of different buildings. We're like, OK, well this has to be in this complex. Where is it? And we finally realized, oh, it’s the other one. We did it to ourselves," said Brett.
Mark added that the pressure of arriving last was something that left them with a "frazzled mindset." If there had been any street signs, then it would have been "helpful" for them.
The Amazing Race Season 37 airs its latest episodes every Wednesday on CBS.
