My Life With the Walter Boys Season 2 has arrived on Netflix after a wait of two years. The teen drama has been able to keep the audience hooked once again, with the love triangle between Jackie, Cole, and Alex.

The complicated dynamics between the trio continue through the 10 episodes of the new season. However, the season ends on a surprising note with not just one, but two major cliffhangers.

Showrunner Melanie Halsall has now talked about how the cliffhangers will impact the already confirmed My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Halsall revealed that there will be a massive fallout in the upcoming season due to the events of the Season 2 finale:

“I hate to leave you hanging. It's a huge deal and there will be a lot of fallout from what happened at the end of Season 2 throughout Season 3.”

My Life With the Walter Boys Season 2’s explosive ending to have ripple effects in Season 3

In the shocking finale of My Life With the Walter Boys Season 2, Jackie and Cole expressed their feelings for each other in a heartfelt conversation, which was heard by Alex.

Even before the trio could process what had happened, they learned that the boys’ father, George, had met with a tragedy. Talking about the cliffhangers in the finale, Melanie Halsall said she wanted Season 2 to have an even more explosive ending than Season 1:

“We ended Season 1 on a pretty big cliffhanger, so of course we wanted to be bigger and better in Season 2. I really wanted to give all the characters a huge thing to deal with in those last moments.”

Opening up about the George twist, Halsall said she wanted a plot that could affect the whole family, and not just the lead trio:

“Jackie's had her fling with Alex, and things have come to a head with Cole where they can't ignore their feelings for each other anymore. But because this series has been about identity and family, I also wanted to blow a big hole in the whole family dynamic as well at the end, not just in the trio.”

On the repercussions of the two cliffhangers in My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3, Halsall stated that the characters will struggle with their ripple effects for a long time:

"I wanted to blow the whole thing apart in ways that we weren't expecting and in ways that are going to have huge repercussions, and the characters will have to deal with those repercussions for quite some time.”

The hit series has already been renewed for a third season, which is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2026. The show stars Nikki Rodriguez as Jackie, Ashby Gentry as Alex, Noah LaLonde as Cole, Marc Blucas as George, Ellie O'Brien as Grace, Sarah Rafferty as Katherine Walter, Zoë Soul as Hayley, Jaylan Evans as Skylar, Connor Stanhope as Danny, Johnny Link as Will, and Corey Fogelmanis as Nathan.

All episodes of My Life With the Walter Boys Season 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
