When it comes to some of the best comedy series fans would immediately remember Schitt's Creek, which focuses on a rich family's downfall in the most hilarious and heartwarming manner. Instead of mocking the characters, it shows their growth with genuine care.
Every character in Schitt's Creek is distinct, memorable and evolves over time. Moira’s over-the-top outfits and theatrical personality, David’s sarcastic charm and vulnerability and how can we forget Alexis’s unexpected growth from a shallow socialite to an independent woman.
All of these character arcs feel real and rewarding allowing viewers to take a deep dive into their journey. Another major reason why the comedy series is widely loved is because of its authentic humor.
It's smart, dry and rooted in character interactions rather than forced jokes or slapstick. There’s also a lot of humor in how the Roses try (and fail) to adapt to their new surroundings but it’s never mean-spirited.

Five hilarious moments from Emmy-winning comedy series Schitt's Creek explored

If you need a good laugh, look no further than Schitt’s Creek. This Emmy-winning comedy is not just a story about a wealthy family forced by circumstance to live in a rundown town. It is a well of wonderfully awkward moments, side-splitting zingers, and outlandish characters that somehow steal your heart with laughter.
Be it Moira’s advanced, overly flowery vocabulary, David’s epic drama queen meltdowns, or Patrick’s hilariously awkward dance moves, Schitt's Creek undoubtedly knows how to turn vacancy into comedy gold.
Below are five hilariously terrific moments from the series that underscore Schitt’s Creek as one of the funniest shows:
5) Moira’s chaotic wine commercial (Schitt’s Creek Season 1, Episode 6)

One of the funniest moments in this Schitt's Creek episode comes when Moira is asked to star in a local fruit wine commercial. Although she clearly doesn’t enjoy the wine (even joking that it tastes like it has a ladybug in it) she sees the ad as a chance to relive her acting days.
Determined to give a "serious performance," she prepares with her usual dramatic flair, treating the small-town gig like a Hollywood role. The real comedy kicks in when Moira tries to film the commercial.
She speaks in overly poetic and ridiculous language, praising things like "muskmelon goodness" and making the fruit wine sound far more glamorous than it really is. But the biggest laugh in Schitt's Creek comes when she repeatedly mispronounces the name "Herb Ertlinger," getting more flustered each time until she blurts out a jumbled mess that ends in the now-iconic line: "Bingo Lingf*cker."

4) Alexis admits she never learned to ride (Schitt’s Creek Season 2, Episode 4)
In Season 2, Episode 4 of Schitt’s Creek, Mutt surprises Alexis with a bike, thinking it’s the ideal gift to keep her healthy now that she can no longer go to fancy spin classes. However, instead of excitement, Alexis has a look of horror–she never learned how to ride a bike.
After an awkward confession to Mutt that she had never learned to ride a bike, Mutt does not judge and instead, he suggests joyfully teaching her to ride a bike. What follows is pure comedy as Alexis clumsily learns to ride her bike under the supervision of a supportive Twyla and a patient Mutt.
3) The "Ciao" voicemail moment (Schitt’s Creek Season 3, Episode 8)
In Season 3, Episode 8 of Schitt's Creek, David does what the best people in the world do - he leaves a series of messy, rambling voicemail messages for Patrick after their first meeting. Clearly flustered and unsure of what to say, David records a voice message to explain his new business idea, Rose Apothecary.
However, he gets flustered and cannot articulate what he wants to say. There are long, awkward pauses and the funniest moment occurs at the end of one message when David nervously closes with a ridiculous "Ciao", which is his attempt to sound laid back and casually goodbye. The voicemails are both funny and insightful.
2) David mimics his mother in Schitt's Creek (Season 3, Episode 6)

David does a hilarious and perfectly executed impression of his mother, Moira in Season 3, Episode 6 of Schitt's Creek. Moira is hard to impersonate because of her extravagant vocabulary and dramatic delivery, but David gets it right.
He puts on her classic exaggerated tone and elite perspective, and makes fun of her dramatic ways of speaking and gesturing. David makes it a moment that highlights his dry humour and the warm, slightly mocking relationship he has with his mom.
1) "Danny Boy" disaster at Carl’s funeral (Schitt’s Creek Season 1, Episode 9)
At Carl’s funeral in Schitt’s Creek Season 1, Episode 9, things take a hilariously awkward turn when Johnny is asked to give a eulogy for someone he barely knew. His speech quickly goes downhill as he unintentionally insults the town, leaving everyone in stunned silence.
That’s when Moira swoops in, full of drama to sing "Danny Boy" a bold, unaccompanied performance meant to save face but ends up stealing the scene in all the wrong (and right) ways. She sings the song not once, but twice.
The second time was even slower and more offbeat, as if that’s what the moment really needed. Her serious expression and theatrical delivery make it unintentionally funny, turning a somber occasion into an unforgettable comedy highlight in Schitt's Creek.
