Netflix’s Untamed has become the latest show that has grabbed viewers’ attention with its slow-burning murder mystery.

The miniseries takes us to the terrain of the Yosemite National Park, where an unknown woman was found dead. ISB agent, Eric Bana’s Kyle Turner, begins investigating the death while also dealing with his personal struggles after losing his son and his broken marriage with Jill (Rosemarie DeWitt).

Jill might have moved on in her life and married again in Untamed, but there is still a deep connection between her and Kyle, of love, grief, and guilt, that still binds them together. Several moments in the series depicted how Jill still cared about Kyle.

7) Jill visits Kyle after his late-night call (Episode 1)

While their marriage is over, Kyle is still struggling with his son’s death and sometimes tends to call Jill up, who is his companion in this grief. In episode 1 of Untamed, after Kyle calls up Jill at 2 a.m., she grows concerned about him and goes to visit him in his cabin.

She initiates small talk, asking him if he is doing well. She insists he discuss his case, as she was always a good listener. She also helps him rearrange the beads of the bracelet that Kyle found in the park, which became their first clue.


6) Jill talks to Paul about Kyle (Episode 1)

While she meets up with Kyle to check for herself if he is doing well, her concern for her ex-husband makes her call his mentor, Paul Souter (Sam Neill), to talk about it. She informs him about Kyle calling her up late at night and that she thinks he wanted to say something but couldn’t.

Apart from herself, she makes sure that more people are looking out for him, depicting how caring she still is toward Kyle.


5) Jill confesses to Kyle about not being happy (Episode 3)

While helping Kyle in any way she could in his investigation in the Lucy Cook (Ezra Franky) case, Jill again meets Kyle in episode 3 of Untamed. This time, while telling him that she informed Paul about him out of concern for him, and also truthfully confesses about not being happy, as she had lied when he asked about it in the premiere episode.

She tells him that just like him, she has also not moved on and still remembers every little detail about their son, depicting that their shared grief has still kept them connected.


4) Jill contemplates calling Kyle (Episode 3)

In episode 3 of Untamed, Jill is visited by Sanderson’s lawyer Esther. Hearing about her son’s death triggers horrifying memories from the past, making her anxious. At a time like this, Jill only wanted to talk to Kyle, as he is the only one who knows and is going through the same situation.

Although she doesn’t call him, he is the first person she thinks of when she is struggling.


3) Jill tells Kyle she felt jealous of Naya (Episode 5)

Just like Kyle, Jill also thinks about Caleb when she meets Naya’s son, Gael. She even protects him by fighting his father, Michael, when he tries to take Gael with him. Kyle and Naya (Lily Santiago) come at the right moment and capture Michael from hurting anyone else.

Jill later confesses the thoughts that she had when Naya took Gael from her. Kyle reassures her that she is a good mother. The companionship and the comfort that Jill and Kyle have that she can discuss anything with him, make their relationship more endearing.


2) Jill apologises to Kyle (Episode 5)

After not being able to take the burden of the grief and guilt of what happened to her son and what she did later, Jill attempted s*icide in Untamed. Fortunately, she survives and is admitted to the hospital, where Kyle comes to visit her after Scott informs him about the situation.

She apologises to Kyle for her action and asks him not to tell anyone about it. Later, she finally decides to let it all out when Kyle informs her that he is going to arrest Shane, as he thinks he might be responsible for Lucy’s death. Arresting Shane might bring them down as well, but Jill still asks him to go through with it as she thinks this might be a good thing, as she is tired of keeping the secret of how Shane was connected to her and Kyle.


1) Jill tells Kyle she’ll be fine (Episode 6)

After not being able to hide it any longer, Jill confesses everything to her husband, Scott, in the finale of Untamed. She tells him that she hired Shane to kill Sean Sanderson, who assaulted and killed Kyle and her son, Caleb. This is one of the biggest reasons for their separation, other than losing Caleb and asking him to decide if he still wants to live with her.

She then visits Kyle in the hospital to tell him that she will be okay now and he does not have to be concerned about her, and also asks him to feel the same way. While Kyle is still not ready, they both reminisce and share a heartwarming moment together, depicting their deep connection and affection toward each other.
