Arnold Schwarzenegger is back on screen with a new season of FUBAR. The Netflix action comedy series tells the story of two CIA operatives: Luke (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his daughter Emma, played by Monica Barbaro. However, none of them actually knew the other worked for the CIA and lied to each other.
FUBAR focuses on when the father-daughter duo come to know about both of them working for the CIA and later going on missions with their team, while Luke is a father and sometimes overly sensitive about his daughter’s safety. The series blends action with humor so effortlessly that it has become one of the most entertaining series on Netflix.
It is not just action and comedy, but romances that the father and daughter experience in their action-packed lives are also perfectly sprinkled throughout the series. Here are 7 such moments from FUBAR that blend action and romance impeccably.

7 romantic moments from FUBAR were blended perfectly with action
7) Aldon decides not to leave Emma underwater (Season 2 Episode 1)
Season 2 of FUBAR begins with the team holding up in a safe house and beginning to get annoyed with living together until a new case comes up. They have to stop Dante Cress, who is planning to destroy the power grid of the US, which in turn will impact the whole world.
Emma and Aldon find the powerplant where the explosion is supposed to happen and decide to swim through the long pipeline to enter it discreetly. Before entering, Aldon tells Emma that if he cannot reach there, she needs to still carry on and finish the mission. Emma says that if she cannot make it, he needs to do the same. He agrees initially, but later mutters he won’t leave her like that, bringing back all the complicated emotions that are building up between the two.
6) Theodore asking Emma out while fighting (Season 2 Episode 1)

After Luke and Carter, a third man is introduced in season 2 of FUBAR, who is smitten by Emma. But the problem is he works for the wrong side. Just as she reaches the e-bomb or the EMP, she is attacked by Guy Burnet’s Theodore Chips, who, while combating with Emma, sheepishly asks her out to take her to dinner.
He even gets enough chance to tell her that it would be special, and with candlelight, while she traps him. However, he still manages to escape from Emma’s grasp, making it one of unpredictable and flirty duels you could have ever seen.
5) Emma trying to ask Aldon for a chance during a mission (Season 1 Episode 7)

This was almost a romantic moment between Aldon and Emma in season 1 of FUBAR, that too during a mission with Aldon’s life in danger. After being shot by one of Landon’s goons, Aldon is left with Roo while Emma goes with Luke to find the nukes.
But before going to the mission, Emma asks Aldon to let their story have a chance this time, since they have been avoiding their own feelings this whole season. It is romantic and heartfelt that Emma finally confesses about her feelings to Aldon while they are on a mission. But it doesn’t go as Emma had thought, as Aldon tells her that he would have waited for Emma if she chose him, but he does not want to be her backup option. The rejection was not as brutal as Emma takes it well and moves on with the mission to find the nukes with her father, while Aldon focuses on surviving.
4) Greta flying off from the rooftop (Season 2 Episode 2)
In this episode of FUBAR, Luke meets his former love interest, Greta Nelso, an ex-German spy who now works for Dante Cress. While Chips keeps Emma stuck with him by pointing his sniper gun at her and flirts incessantly, involving her singing, Luke and Greta indulge themselves in a slow dance where Greta gets rid of some of Luke’s shirt buttons with a knife, and tells him to stay away.
But it is her flying off in a helicopter that becomes the highlight of the episode. After that romantic dance off, the helicopter exit of Greta was as spectacular as it could get.
3) Greta’s emotional goodbye (Season 2 Episode 8)

Greta had realised that Luke had always been in love with his ex-wife Tally and was ready to sacrifice herself to keep her former lover safe in the finale of season 2 of FUBAR. Greata wanted to have a life with Luke, but Luke already has a family. So in a heroic move, she asks Luke to kiss her one last time, but she pushes him out and locks herself in, deciding that it would be her who sacrifices as Luke needs to be with his family.
While it was the end of Greta and Luke’s love story when she sacrificed herself in his place, she didn’t actually die at the end, but thanks to Emma, who reported her death, she won’t be going to jail.
2) Luke confesses to Tally (Season 1 Episode 8)

What’s more audacious and romantic than confessing your love just before the wedding ceremony of your partner? But that’s Luke — he couldn’t see the love of his life, Tally, marrying someone else right before his eyes.
He begins confessing about his secret life being a CIA agent and showing her several proofs, like medals that he had earned for capturing or killing dangerous criminals around the world. But romance without action or a big blow-up is incomplete in FUBAR. Therefore, in the finale of season 1, the big car bomb explosion halts Luke’s elaborate confession about his secret life to his ex-wife, right before her wedding ceremony, and the whole team springs into action against Boro’s goons in a full-fledged shootout.
1) The Tango dance scene (Season 2 Episode 3)
Emma and Chip’s tango dance was one of the highlights of the latest season of FUBAR. While they are at odds, the dance shows their intense chemistry, which makes the other two, Carter and Aldon, mutter about their hatred for the guy.
While the two indulge in dancing, which gradually changes Emma’s opinion of Chip, on the other hand, Luke and Greta, especially Greta, begin reminiscing about their old days and had to fight off the armed guards that attacked them. Both the father and the daughter found themselves in unwanted romantic entanglements, but did not disappoint us as the scene was a spectacular blend of romance and action.
