Tom Hardy’s MobLand maintains the top show position of Paramount
MobLand has been the streaming giant's hit shows since the premiere, as it is reported to have garnered 9.7 million views on the first day of its launch, breaking several records and making history for Paramount+ shows. The popularity of the show kept increasing as it earned more than 26 million views and grabbed the top spot of the most popular shows on Paramount+.
Even after the finale released on June 1, 2025, the popularity of the Tom Hardy-starring drama hasn’t died down and is even beating out the new shows that are being launched. The same thing happened to the Dexter sequel, Dexter: Resurrection, which recently premiered but grabbed the second position after launch with 234 points as per FlixPatrol, while MobLand has 240 points, maintaining its number one position.
The star-studded cast is one of the reasons for MobLand’s popularity
Created by Ronan Bennett, who also helmed Eddie Redmayne-starring The Day of the Jackal, roped in Guy Ritchie, who serves as one of the directors of MobLand. The crime drama tells the story of two London crime families, the Stevensons and the Harrigans, as they try to maintain their criminal empires.
Tom Hardy plays the character of Harry Da Souza, the fixer of the Harrigan family, who tries to maintain peace between the two families to avoid any future wars. Aside from Hardy, MobLand has several acclaimed Hollywood actors in the cast, including Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, and Joanne Froggatt, among others. The cast and performance are among the many reasons, aside from the storyline, that made MobLand one of the hit shows of 2025.
