The fantasy K-drama series Twelve is currently airing Episode 2 on U+ Mobile TV in South Korea and on Disney+ in select regions, which is only getting deeper in as the episode ties together the previous betrayals from the angels and an ancient demon rising up.

The K-drama focuses on the twelve zodiac angels that were made to protect the Korean Peninsula to protect it from evil spirits and do it justice when they sealed away the dark forces in the Hell Gate. While they loved and sacrificed themselves for humans so the spirits would give peace to humanity, this provided the seal to weaken and opened up the same evils now being reborn.

Episode 2 begins by exploring the uneasy history between humans and angels. We see a flashback to the Joseon period in which Tae-san, the leader of the angels, recalls the event in which he lost faith in mankind.

When Tae-san and Mirr stood against some thugs harassing the vendors at the market, Mirr bravely used her wind powers to protect the vendors. Rather than show gratitude, the vendors drugged Tae-san's family and attempted to burn Mirr alive.

Although Tae-san rescued her before they harmed her, it was so damaging to him that he instructed his family to never engage with humans again. This scene explains how the angels ultimately stopped protecting humanity.

K-drama Twelve Episode 2 recap: Ogwi starts working with Samin against the angels

The alliance of Samin and Ogwi creates chaos in Twelve Episode 2. Samin treats Ogwi as his final weapon to use against Tae-san and the other angels, but he does not control Ogwi, whose agenda is unstable with its own motivations.

This subplot also establishes the soul stones and Dragon Soul, representing the balance of power between good and evil. The tension is whether Ogwi will align himself with Samin's motivation or work for his own benefit.

Meanwhile, angels live disguised as humans after losing much of their power. Tae-san runs Angel Capital Group, lending money to ex-convicts and gangsters, as well as fellow angels like Do-ni, who only have very limited abilities, in this case, mind-reading.

Mirr, the dragon-angel, is an employee at a museum, her abilities sealed, but she still could feel the stirrings of mer hindering her abilities. First with the visions of the demon and then the suspicious men whom she defeated with ease. Mirr almost feels Ogwi, but their paths missed coinciding, triggering a larger confrontation yet to happen.

The angels are attacked in Twelve Episode 2

As the Twelve episode continues, Samin quickly gets the other demons to cause conflict. He warns the other demons to stay away from O-gwi until they get back the soul stones, and then he performs a ritual with the demons all walking through a wall of fire, the glowing necklaces of the angels warning that evil has returned.

So the angels: Won-seung, Mal-sook, Gan-ji, Do-ni, and Gwi-dol quickly deal with it. Mirr is busy doing her work, and Tae-san is in his doctor's office, unconscious, missing multiple important calls.

The attack begins at Mirr’s office building, where she is ambushed by demons and swiftly overpowered. Samin observes the fight to see how the angels will fare. The episode concludes with Tae-san noticing his glowing locket.

Whereas Ogwi is lurking dangerously on the roof with his red eyes showing he has come into his powers, and Ma-rok is arriving on the scene to see the young angels struggling.
