Twelve Episode 3 recap: The angels struggle and clash over protecting humans
Twelve Episode 3 begins with Tae-san and Bang-wool hurrying to help other angels after their amulets glow. Meanwhile, the rest of the group has already engaged in a tough battle with demons.
Just when the odds look grim, Ma-rok comes to save the day, therefore ending the clash. The demons who have been sent to kill the angels in the parking area, suddenly vanish. That's thanks to Sa-min, who planned everything.
The exhausted group then returns home. Now that they are all back, Mirr decides to go back. She no longer lives with the angels and prefers staying away. Tension soon builds up between Tae-san and Kang-ji, as she wants to fulfill her duty as a protector of humans, while Tae-san refuses to let her risk her life for those who once tried to burn them.
Still, Kang-ji argues that Tae-san is being irresponsible and says,
"The purpose of our existence is to protect humans," and that these angels must honor this duty till the very end.
However, Tae-san reminds her of what humans did to them, and mentions that even God has abandoned them.
Tae-san refuses to uphold such a duty is it destroys his family of angels. Despite this, Kang-ji insists on helping humans by once again standing against the dark forces and sending them back to Hell.
Marok wants Won-seung to take charge of the angels in Twelve Episode 3

After Tae-san leaves, Marok asks Won-seung to have a word with him. He takes the angel for dinner and tries to convince Won-seung that Tae-san wants him to take the lead and find the evil spirits.
Being a medium between humans and angels, Marok knows how to trick angels and control them. In Episode 3 of Twelve, he is just trying to make Won-seung believe that Tae-san needs his help so that they can learn more about the one who performed rituals to awaken Ogwi.
Later, Tae-sang remembers the four angels who lost their lives in a previous battle. This explains why there were only eight angels currently, as four of them had already gone. Ans Tae-san recalls the time when they saw them for the last time, and will not let such a thing happen again.
Magro then tells Tae-san that Samin is behind awakening the dark forces. He is a high priest who turned Haetae into an evil spirit, and still continues with his dark rituals. Despite knowing this, Tae-san asks Magro to keep his kids away from the matter.
Samin's plan with the soul stones revealed in Twelve Episode 3

As Twelve Episode 3 nears its end, the angels take Mirr to an orphanage, where they work together. Flashback from the past reveals how Tae-san saved the old lady (from Episode 1) when she was a kid.
In a chilling moment, Mirr gets a vision of everyone dying, with Tae-san trying hard to fight the evil. This is a clear warning that Ogwi's rising isn't going to be something that the angels can easily handle.
In the final moments of Twelve Episode 3, Samin meets Ogwi and tells him that the day Haetae died, there were three soul stones left behind. If Ogwi managed to get the stones and feed the energy to the Dragon Soul (which controls the powers of angels and demons), then Ogwi could get all of Haetae's powers.
