Episode 12 of Typhoon Family sees a shift in the family dynamics and also shows how devoted Tae-poong is when it comes to his feelings for Mi-seon. He clearly tells her that his feelings are true and does not expect her to love him back.
And while he holds his emotions, another situation unfolds around Nam-mo. His mother is tense and comes to Nam-ho, expressing her frustration and even telling him not to pursue a relationship with Mi-h.
Nam-mo's mother believes that Mi-ho is too clever for him and therefore unsuitable for him. Meanwhile, at Mi-seon's house, Jeong-mi has started to blend in with the other members. She's not just taking care of Mi-seon's little brother but also looks after the grandfather.
Though she misses her past life and luxury, Jeong-mi still feels happy as there are people around her who are real and kind. At the same time, Tae-poong is also giving his all to rebuild Typhoon Trading. All of these things help her move forward in life.

Typhoon Family episode 12 recap: A new business trip begins with tension for Tae-poong
At work, Tae-poong faces a major obstacle: the specialized gloves Typhoon Trading needs come from a single manufacturer. Since only one supplier dominates the business, negotiating becomes extremely difficult, and some colleagues tell him the deal may not be worth the trouble.
So instead of going to the U.S. factory, the team decides the smarter move is to go straight to Malaysia, where the base materials are sourced. The travel responsibilities are assigned, and Song-jung is sent overseas while Tae-poong stays for the bidding event.
Around the same time, Mi-ho attends a school function for her younger brother. On the other side, Nam-mo's mother still dislikes Mi-seon and even her sister. And now that her son is involved with Mi-seon's younger sister, she hates her even more.
During the bidding, the Typhoon team stalls as much as they can, hoping Song-jung will secure the information they need. They have limited time, and as the Typhoon Family episode continues, Tae-poong receives the message that allows him to submit the exact amount they were aiming for.
They were able to get the deal, thanks to Song-jung, who negotiated a massive forty-percent discount.

Mi-seon gets caught in a fire in Typhoon Family episode 12
Apart from the business success, the characters continue to face personal problems. Nam-mo’s mother corners Mi-ho and harshly tells her not to date her son simply because both of them come from financially strained backgrounds.
Her words cut deep as she tells Mi-ho that the only reason she doesn't want her to date Nam-mo is poverty. Mi-ho and her entire family are poor, and after Mi-seon gets married, Nam-mo might have to look after Mi-ho's family. And his mother does not want this burden in the future.
Mi-ho breaks down after hearing this, and Nam-mo is devastated by how cruelly his mother treated her. He later confronts his mother, pointing out that their own family is in even worse financial shape.
On the other side, in episode 12 of Typhoon Family, Hyeon-jun faces the consequences of his action. His father gets into a physical fight with him, accusing Hyeon-jun of the damage he has done.
He feels cornered and goes to Seon-taek to learn the truth about the promissory note. By the end of the episode, Tae-poong and Mi-seon stay behind to double-check product quality.
Tae-poong briefly steps out to bring food, and in that small window of time, someone intentionally sets the factory on fire while Mi-seon is still inside. The doors are locked from the outside, making it clear this wasn’t an accident. While Mi-seon was rescued, there will be consequences that they will have to face in the business.
