If you tuned into the Dexter: Resurrection finale and found yourself squinting at the credits, wondering, "Wait, did that say Christie Brinkley?" you weren’t alone.
The episode "And Justice for All…" featured the supermodel’s name listed as a guest star. But her presence on screen has turned into a fan mystery. Was she in the gala crowd? Cut from a scene? Or was it an inside joke for the producers? The online sleuthing started right as the finale aired.
Fans on Reddit and Facebook have been trading timestamps, freeze frames, and theories like forensic detectives themselves.
Very on brand for a Dexter: Resurrection audience, if you ask us!
Christie Brinkley's (alleged) blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Dexter: Resurrection cameo
According to Reddit user monomist, Christie Brinkley pops up briefly around the 25:41 mark. During a scene at Arthur Prater’s gala, she’s reportedly visible on the bottom right corner of the screen.
Another commenter, lightvox, insisted she’s there at 25:42 if you freeze it. "At the bottom right corner, she is the third person," they clarified. Some said she was wearing a dark, sparkly dress and that she was seen only in profile for less than two seconds on Dexter: Resurrection.
Other fans were less convinced.
One poster flat-out said the woman in question was "absolutely not her" and said she was wearing a reddish dress and had her hair in a bun.
Another insisted that giving someone as famous as Brinkley a background extra role made little sense. This fan argued:
"I don't think they would have credited someone so famous only to treat her like an extra."
The Dexter: Resurrection credit controversy
The real fuel to the fire came from the credits themselves. As members of the Dexter Fan Club group on Facebook noted, Brinkley’s name appeared right before the actor playing Brian. That was enough to convince some that she must have filmed something, whether or not it made the cut.
One fan thought that her cameo was supposed to happen at Leon Prater’s event, but it might have been trimmed down or lost in editing.
Others wondered if the credit was included as a joke, given how Brinkley was spotted in New York while the show was filming.
"Did the show decide to give her credit as a joke or did they cut her scenes, but left her in the credits?" mused a puzzled viewer.
The lack of clarity is making things more confusing. Unlike most cameos, where stars relish in the "gotcha!" moment on social media, Brinkley has been quiet about her alleged role. And IMDb hasn’t listed her for the episode either.
Why Christie Brinkley?
If the cameo really happened, it would fit a trend of unexpected celebrity appearances in prestige TV finales. Brinkley (a fashion icon and occasional actress) has never been tied to the Dexter universe before. So the idea of her randomly appearing at a swanky Miami gala is strangely plausible.
This casting Easter egg makes fans pause, rewind, and question.
Until Showtime (or Christie Brinkley herself) confirms, fans are piecing together screenshots like digital crime investigators. For now, Brinkley’s role in Dexter: Resurrection has become one of the show’s strangest mysteries!
