Game of Thrones stars Kit Harrington and Sophie Turner will be reuniting for a film called The Dreadful, and the Stark family reunion is not what fans would have expected. In the HBO drama, Sophie played Sansa Stark, and Harrington played Jon Snow, her half-brother, later revealed to be her cousin.

However, in the upcoming Gothic horror film, they will share a romantic arc between their characters. While talking to E! News, Harrington revealed how it was "odd" to share those romantic scenes with Sansa, who used to play his sister in Game of Thrones. While talking about the kiss scene that they filmed, Harrington also revealed another fact that felt awkward and quipped:

"It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she's about a foot taller than me."

More on this in our story.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington will play Sophie Turner's love interest in a new film

Kit Harrington and Sophie Turner played the beloved characters of Sansa Stark and Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. They both played crucial roles in the HBO fantasy series. While initially their characters did not appear much together, they became closer near the end when the Stark siblings reunited. Their reunion was one of the most heartwarming moments from the popular TV series.

After playing siblings in the acclaimed series, they will now be seen as playing love interests in The Dreadful. Turner is set to play Anne, and Harrington will play a character named Jago in the film set in the 15th century. Recently, while speaking with E! News, the actor opened up about filming the romantic scenes with Turner, who had previously played his sister. While it was awkward to film the intimate scenes with her, he also joked about her being taller than him as another "embarrassing" detail.

He also revealed in the interview that it was Turner who approached him with the role and stated:

"She was one that sent that movie to me and somehow didn't see what I saw in it. I was like, 'These guys, these are lovers, right?' I felt very odd about that."

While appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers in August 2025, Sophie Turner also opened up about the romantic scenes, specifically the first kissing scene between her character and Harrington's character, and stated:

"It's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst - another really bad moment in my career."

While they both found it weird to film the intimate scenes, Harrington also shared that he was happy to reunite with his Game of Thrones co-star, as it revived their friendship, and said:

"It felt like being with family. It really did."
