Watson Season 2 Episode 5 recap: Sherlock helps the team capture a murderous nurse

In the latest Watson Season 2 episode, Sherlock came to see John again as he was working nearby and later assisted in capturing a killer. In Episode 5 of Season 2 of the medical-mystery drama, John was introduced to a comatose patient named Lewis, also known as Lucky, who had been in the hospital's long-term unit for sixteen years. A nurse claimed that he had been responding to her.

After looking into Lucky's case, John learned that the patient was not in a coma but had locked-in syndrome. Furthermore, Lucky was also the one who told everyone about the murderous nurse who had been roaming around the hospital. After she tries to silence him and flee from the country. Sherlock helps in capturing her.

Watson Season 2 Episode 5 recap: John meets Lucky

In Episode 5 of Watson Season 2, John was visiting Van Kirk Memorial Hospital, where he was approached by a nurse named Alicia Santos, who wanted to talk to him about her patient, called Lucky. Lucky had been in the long-term unit of the hospital for sixteen years. He had a stroke while his wife was away and was found and admitted a day later.

He hasn't spoken after that, and Alicia has been taking care of him since his wife's death more than ten years ago. However, Alicia noticed that Lucky had been responding when she talked to him. She has informed the doctors and nurses, but no one believed her. Therefore, she waited for John to visit so she could tell him about Lucky.

As John met with the patient and looked into his case, he learned that Lucky was not actually comatose but was suffering from locked-in syndrome.

In Episode 5 of Watson Season 2, John informs us that while Lucky cannot move, he can communicate with his eyes by blinking one eye and sees and is aware of everything happening around him. That's how he discovered the murderous nurse who has been roaming around.

While he informed them about the nurse, no one initially believed him, but after a death occurred on his floor, it was clear that Lucky was telling the truth, and he was shifted to UHOP for better treatment and also to keep him safe, as he was now also a witness.

However, it wasn't enough to save Lucky from the nurse, as she learned that Lucky knew about her and reached the hospital to inject him with a paralytic drug so that he would not die but also could not communicate anymore. While the team tried to find a way to make Lucky reach the trial, John asked his detective friend to look for the killer.

Ingrid suggested that her mentor from medical school might help in Lucky's case, but he was not doing well at the moment after he was kicked out of his own company in Episode 5 of Watson Season 2. Beck helped Ingrid get the interface that could connect Lucky's brain with it so that he could communicate through the interface and also helped her mentor, who admitted Lucky into his trial.

Elsewhere, the nurse was trying to escape from the country and go to Vietnam to avoid getting caught. However, with Sherlock calling in a bomb threat, the cops were able to capture the murderous nurse.

The episode also brought back Mycroft, who is now eyeing taking the clinic from John as he is going bankrupt.
