Colter Shaw fans might feel on cloud nine after the latest update on the upcoming Tracker Season 3. Shooting has officially begun for this season, as the verified Instagram page of the show shared the update, captioned, “Oh, we are so back!!”

The official synopsis of the show, as mentioned by Rotten Tomatoes, reads,

"Colter Shaw, a trusted lone-wolf survivalist who, driven by the troubles of his past, uses his instincts to find the missing and collect rewards. Supported by lawyer Reenie Green, his business handler Velma Bruin and tech expert Bobby Exley, Colter will stop at nothing to get the job done."

Scheduled to premiere on October 19, 2025, Tracker Season 3 is already highly anticipated due to how season 2 ended. The exact number of episodes in this season has not yet been confirmed, but since season 1 and 2 had 13 and 20 episodes respectively, the third season's count is likely to be similar.

Tracker Season 3 has started shooting

The Tracker Season 2 finale premiered on May 11, and Colter returned home for a job. While the job went smoothly, he also uncovered a family secret that could change how he sees his mother, as he learned she might have been involved in his father's death. It ended on a major emotional cliffhanger, with fans eagerly awaiting Tracker Season 3, which is likely to reveal more about Colter's family and how he handles this shocking new information.

Talking about his mother and what she had done, Hartley told Variety in a Season 3 preview interview,

“I know we’ll get to the nitty-gritty of why my mother hired this guy. Was she protecting her kids? Was an affair happening? Was the government involved? Was it strictly just my mother? Why did she hide that from us for so long?”

He further added,

“Why did she lead me to believe that it was my brother who was involved when he wasn’t? It seems like this divide-and-conquer thing that she’s doing. It was just an odd thing to do with your children. There’s some deep psychosis there. We’ll unpack that.”

His words made it clear that Tracker Season 3 will therefore inevitably focus on Colter’s personal life as he must uncover the truth about his own family. For a man who is always finding answers for others, it would be interesting to see Colter go on a journey to discover his own truth and how he reacts to it.

Tracker can be streamed on Paramount+.
