The Four Seasons is one of the more successful shows from Netflix this year. Season 1, which premiered on the streaming platform on May 1, 2025, quickly climbed up the global charts. The comedy series follows the story of a group of friends trying to tackle the complexities of marriage and adulthood as they holiday together.
While there is no update about Season 2 so far, one of the creators and stars of the show, Tina Fey, shared that she would love to work with The Four Seasons cast and crew again. During an interview with TV Insider, Fey shared,
“I feel like we sort of don’t dare to dream yet, but we did. Who knows. If we were lucky enough to do more of these, we’d certainly all like to hang out again.”
The Four Seasons is created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield. The show is inspired by Alan Alda’s 1981 movie with the same title. The Four Seasons has a star studded cast including Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Erika Henningsen and Kerri Kenney-Silver.
The series currently holds a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 79% from critics and 70% from the audience. It leads the Netflix chart for top shows.
What is The Four Seasons about?
The Four Seasons follows the story of three couples: Kate (played by Tina Fey) and Jack (played by Will Forte), Nick (played by Steve Carell) and Anne (played by Kerri Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani).
The six friends gather at Nick and Anne’s Lake house for a holiday. All is going well until they learn that Nick is planning to divorce Anne. The news throws everyone off as they navigate through their own marital problems.
The eight episodes take the audience through different holidays that the group takes. Nick’s new girlfriend Ginny (played by Erika Henningsen) joins the friends on the holidays. She is reluctantly accepted by others, who still hold regard for Anne. At the end of Season 1, Nick tragically dies, and as the group tries to pick up the broken pieces, there's a shocking revelation.
About the possibility of Season 2, co-creator Tracey Wigfield said,
“If we did another season, we would want the same group of friends, and we’d want Ginny to really be tied in there because she and Anne are going to have children who are siblings. And it just gives us a lot to play with in their relationship.”
