After Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3 wrapped up after 10 episodes, fans are waiting for the next season to drop, which has already been confirmed. Season 3 saw the storyline focus more on Maggie’s pregnancy and Sully’s own journey of transformation after the fire and does not mention an important character who made an appearance in Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2.
The character in question is Sedona, Cal’s sister. Played by Meghan Ory, the character made an appearance toward the end of season 2 and her character gave some insight into the childhood that Cal and she had shared with their father, who was a patient with schizophrenia.
Given how some of Sedona’s behavior seems erratic, Cal thinks she is schizophrenic too but it is later revealed that she has teratoma, a type of tumor on her ovary, making it attack her brain.
Sedona has teratoma in Sullivan’s Crossing
After his sister comes calling for him, Cal is worried that she might be having the same illness like their father and her life will be ruined. Sedona does show signs of schizophrenia as she hallucinates and behaves rather oddly.
However, after she has a seizure, Maggie decides to run a number of tests on her and according to her expertise, she believes Sedona may have some kind of brain infection.
After Sedona undergoes a number of more tests, it is revealed that she has a tumor in her ovary, which is affecting her brain. She is definitely not schizophrenic and should feel completely fine after her surgery.
While the character had a rather brief screen time, the character was an important one as she had bluntly told Cal about her thoughts on Maggie and also assured him that he would make a great dad. Moreover, it was after her arrival that Cal decided to call up their mother, something he had not done in a very long time.
Cal’s call ended up being a voicemail as his mother did not pick up but the act was significant enough. Moreover, it was because of Sedona’s arrival that Cal's and her childhood was shown in greater detail, which helped the audience understand Cal's character better.
Sedona did not return in Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3 though it would have been interesting to see more of her and how she was doing post surgery. She would have been a good addition to the family as well after Cal became a father because of how she had faith in his abilities.
Sullivan’s Crossing can be streamed on Netflix.
