The friendship between 90 Day Fiancé stars Loren Brovarnik and Elizabeth "Libby" Potthast soured on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 8, after a housewarming celebration that turned into a heated argument. When Loren and her husband, Alexei, welcomed a number of the cast members to their new home in Florida, including Elizabeth, her husband, Andrei Castravet, and friends Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren, the drama began.
What was meant to be a celebration soon turned into a heated argument involving gender roles, relocation decisions, and personal boundaries. Andrei's proposal to relocate Elizabeth and their kids to Moldova was a major source of contention, and Loren publicly opposed it.
When Loren's friend Noga got involved, the situation grew much more tense. Since Loren and Elizabeth stopped following one another on Instagram as of July 2025, there has been conjecture that their friendship has permanently dissolved.
Inside the fallout between Loren and Elizabeth on 90 Day Fiancé
During 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 8, Loren Brovarnik and Elizabeth Potthast reunited for a housewarming party in Florida. The gathering, intended to be a friendly celebration, turned into a heated argument when Andrei Castravet got into a verbal altercation with Loren and her best friend, Noga.
Libby tried to keep things calm, but later stated that her friend had overstepped boundaries. Before the party, Elizabeth had opened up about her fear of moving to Andrei’s native Moldova. Yara Zaya expressed similar concerns but encouraged Libby to consider the move carefully.
Loren took a more direct approach and made it clear she didn’t want Elizabeth to relocate. Although Libby appreciated Loren’s apology, she later told producers,
“I'm about to leave for my trip but as soon as I get back Lauren and I are going to have a conversation and we need to talk about boundaries because she is crossing over all of them.”
Andrei intensified the tension when he gave Libby an ultimatum about the move. Alexei, Loren, Jovi, and Yara tried to reason with him, but the conversation escalated. Noga intervened and called Andrei an "as*h*le" for what she perceived as misogynistic behavior. She and Loren left the party soon after.
In a follow-up scene, Loren invited Noga over to sage her home and discuss the incident. Loren admitted she’d never seen Noga act that way before, saying she had been friends with Noga longer than with Elizabeth. Noga said,
“Like I I hit such a blackout, like I think I was tricked.”
She expressed shame for how she acted and said Andrei’s attitude had triggered her. Noga and Loren both agreed that Andrei came across as misogynistic.
Loren described Andrei as stoic and old-fashioned, while Noga believed he should have been more considerate to those around him. Despite the apology Loren relayed to Elizabeth, the latter told producers that an apology was meaningless if the behavior continued.
Loren, who didn’t want to lose Elizabeth as a friend, attempted to maintain peace. She believed Elizabeth needed support and acknowledged her friend's habit of not standing up to Andrei. However, Elizabeth did not appreciate Loren’s continued criticism of her family decisions.
Yara Zaya played a role in the unfolding tension. When Loren continued to disapprove of the Moldova move, Yara took a more neutral stance. She said Elizabeth might enjoy living in Moldova and pointed out she could choose another European country later if needed.
According to recent updates, Elizabeth still follows Yara on Instagram but no longer follows Loren. Loren also appears to have unfollowed Elizabeth. This change in their social media activity has led 90 Day Fiancé fans to speculate that the friendship ended after filming the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?.
