Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 4 closes on a cliffhanger as Christopher is driving towards the park to meet the DCU Emilia Harcourt. Meanwhile, Harcourt chooses to betray Chris to get back in A.R.G.U.S.'s good graces. This is why a few A.R.G.U.S. agents are nearby Harcourt as she waits for Chris in the park. As that happens, we see a montage of characters getting ready with the song A Shot at Redemption by the Swedish band H.E.A.T.

A Shot at Redemption is a rock song that was released back in February 2014. However, it has gained a new level of popularity as the decade-old song is the Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 4 ending song.

What happens in the closing minutes of Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 4?

The fourth episode of Peacemaker Season 2 picks up right where the third one left off. A few A.R.G.U.S. agents are standing outside Chris's house as Sasha Bordeaux, Judomaster, Red St. Wild, Langston Fleury, and John Economos are approaching the Peacemaker's residence. The first act of the episode is mostly about A.R.G.U.S. trying to hack Peacemaker's QUC door and rein him in.

However, Chris manages to escape his house and calls Leota Adebayo to drop him at a dilapidated hunting lodge. He manages to close the QUC portal inside his house and opens it in the lodge. He briefly considers abandoning the DCU and heading to the alternate dimension where his life seems better to him. But before that happens, he messages Harcourt asking her to meet in a park.

But she learns from Rick Flag Sr that Waller did, in fact, black list her, which is why she is broke. Under desperation, she takes the offer to betray Chris in exchange for getting off the black list. The next episode will show whether Chris is finally reined in or not. As Chris heads to the park, A Shot at Redemption plays in the background, closing this Peacemaker Season 2 episode.

James Gunn addressed what it was like to collaborate with the artists:

James Gunn was interviewed by countless online entertainment portals before the release of Peacemaker Season 2. One of these interviews was on August 21, 2025, with The Mary Sue. When the reporter asked the showrunner what it was like to work with bands like Foxy Shazam (the band's song Oh Lord is the number that the cast dances to in the Peacemaker Season 2 intro). To this, Gunn responded:

“Oh, it’s awesome. I remember turning Jen [Holland] onto Foxy Shazam like a couple years ago. We were renting a house in LA and we were outside, and I kept playing her different songs and I was showing her videos, and she’s like, ‘How is this band not like the biggest band in the world? They have so many good songs.’ I mean, they’re like Queen, you know? And so to be able to introduce people to Foxy and have them see what a great band there is awesome.”

In the same interview, Gunn also revealed his favorite thing about the job:

“In the same way, it’s cool to get people to see what an amazing actor John Cena is in a way that they haven’t seen or see how good Jen is at acting and fighting or Steve Agee can do dramatic, all these different elements of people that I love and can bring out. That’s my favorite part of this whole job.”

A Shot at Redemption is available to stream on all platforms. In fact, the HBO Max show's official playlist on Spotify includes that Swedish band's song.
