Peacemaker Season 2 has officially reached its halfway point in its second season. Much like the previous episode, this one is a short one, which has a runtime of 38 minutes. It picks up where the last episode ends, i.e., Economos, Bordeaux, and Fleury approaching Chris's house as other A.R.G.U.S. agents wait outside.
But Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 4 featured two major dramatic plot points. Firstly, Christopher considers abandoning the DCU and settling down in the alternate dimension, as life is better for him there. Rick Flag Sr., dangling a tempting offer to Emilia Harcourt, is the second dramatic story development in this episode.
"As A.R.G.U.S. ramps up efforts to find the QUC, Harcourt receives a tempting offer from Flag — which comes at a steep cost to Peacemaker"
Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 4 recap:
Here is the recap of what happens in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 4, Need I Say Door:
- The origin of DCU Chris's QUC
The prologue of this Peacemaker Season 2 episode is a flashback of the DCU Smith family. The DCU Auggie, Keith, and Chris are hunting 35 years ago. Auggie shoots something he believes to be a deer, but the three discover that the creature Auggie shot is a mysterious alien. Auggie kills the alien despite Chris's protests and steals the alien's mysterious metal case. They also discover the dead alien's pocket-dimensional technology and begin using it.
This scene confirms that the fan theories suggesting Auggie Smith from the DCU is a genius who collaborated with LuthorCorp to create or modify the QUC technology are incorrect.
- Red St. Wild believes that Eagly is a prime eagle
Red St. Wild is about to shoot Eagly when Economos saves Eagly's life. When the eagle hunter wakes up, John lies to him, which the former believes. According to the eagle hunter, Eagly is something he refers to as "prime eagle", i.e., killing the eagle would wash away the sins of the injustice against Native Americans. In the last act of the episode, Red St. Wild performs a mysterious ritual through which he locates Chris and Eagly's hiding spot.
- Economos risks it all
Despite describing himself as a coward, John Economos is one of the unsung heroes of the entire series. First, discreetly sends a message to Chris warning him of a raid. Then, he calls Chris again, where the latter asks Economos to stall hacking the lock for the QUC in his house.
- The Mysterious metal case's purpose revealed
Chris finds the metal case his father stole from the alien, and flees from his home as A.R.G.U.S. agents raid the property along with Eagly. Chris calls Leota Adebayo to help him flee to his family's old hunting cabin at Settlers' Hills. Upon reaching their. Chris opens the metal case, which is revealed to be a device that serves as the key for the QUC.
Chris uses the device to open the QUC portal to this old cabin, closing it in his house. As Economos hacks the electric lock and opens the door, it is just a closet with jackets. Thus, we learnt that the DCU's QUC technology is portable.
- Chris and Adebayo have a heart-to-heart chat
Chris tells the truth to Leota in this Peacemaker Season 2 episode. He also tells her that he is considering abandoning his home dimension for the alternate dimension, which has everything that he ever wanted. But Leota tries to warn that things might not be as good as they seem in the alternate dimension, and not to be carried forward by it. But before he leaves, he messages the DCU Harcourt. Speaking of which:
- Rcik Flag Sr. confirms what Harcourt suspected all along
Rick Flag Sr. meets Emilia Harcourt for the first time since Rick Flag Jr.'s funeral. Flag Sr. also confirms what Harcourt suspected all along: Waller did indeed blacklist her before resigning. But Flag Sr. does offer Harcourt a chance to get back to A.R.G.U.S.'s good graces. There's a price, though: she has to betray Chris. In the episode's closing minutes, she waits for Chris on the park bench with A.R.G.U.S. agents nearby as he drives towards it.
