Will Michael Rooker's Red St. Wild debut in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 2? Possibilities explored

The second episode of Peacemaker Season 2 gears up for its August 28, 2025, release. Fans are speculating about the plot of the upcoming episode, titled A Man Is Only as Good as His Bird. The word "Bird" in the title has fans theorizing that the episode will probably revolve around Eagly. However, some also believe that the episode may also mark the debut of Red St. Wild, played by actor Michael Rooker.

For those who don't know, Michael Rooker is one of James Gunn's most frequent collaborators. The actor has appeared in all seven James Gunn movies in one way or another, including Superman, where he voiced Superman Robot 1. But that's not his only DCU role, as he is set to appear in Peacemaker Season 2 as Red St. Wild.

However, as of now, we don't know if the upcoming second episode will feature Rooker's character or not.

Who is Peacemaker Season 2's Red St. Wild?

One of the newest additions to the cast of Peacemaker Season 2 is Michael Rooker's character Red St. Wild, a creation for the show. He is described as an eagle hunter who aims to hunt Eagly. Therefore, some believe that he will have a small role in the second episode. James Gunn, in the May 2025 Entertainment Weekly interview, described Red St. Wild as:

"His name is Red St. Wild, and he's the world's foremost eagle hunter who is on a mission to kill Eagly. We thought Eagly was probably the most popular character from season 1, and so in season 2, he has his own story with his nemesis, played by none other than the despicable Michael Rooker."

While it may look like Rooker is appearing in the upcoming episode, as of now, we don't know if he is appearing in the episode or not. The only way to find out is to catch the episode on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

While some are excited to see one of James Gunn's frequent collaborators, some are confused about Rooker's role, as he also appeared in Gunn's 2021 movie, The Suicide Squad, as Brian Durlin/Savant.

Michael Rooker's Peacemaker Season 2 return explained:

While elements of 2021's The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1 are canon to the DCU, Gunn himself hinted that there might be slight variations. He did so during the fifth episode of Peacemaker: The Official Podcast with James Gunn. In that episode, Gunn revealed that the character of Clemson Murn, played by Chukwudi Iwuji, while canon to the DCU, doesn't necessarily have Iwuji's face. Gunn's exact words were:

"I think Clemson Murn is canon. Maybe his face might not be canon if we want to cast [Chukwudi Iwuji] as something else in the DCU. But also, Chuk could end up being some other character maybe that isn't so humanoid."

Therefore, what James Gunn said about the character of Clemson Murn might apply to Savant as well. It is also important to point out that Rooker's character was also killed in the opening minutes of The Suicide Squad, making the actor's return possible in some form.
