As promised, the Outlander: Blood of My Blood finale introduced an important character from Claire's formative years in the 20th century from the parent series. Q aka Claire's Uncle Lamb, who had a very brief appearance in Outlander Pilot, debuted in the spin-off series.

Quentin Lambert Beauchamp, fondly called Q and Uncle Lamb (by Claire), is Henry's brother. As established in the parent series, Claire grew up with her Uncle Lamb after her parents' tragic death. Q's profession as a historian and archaeologist extended to his niece, who also developed his curiosity and knack for exploring new things. While Uncle Lamb was an important part of Claire's formative years, he is only mentioned in passing in the parent series. Claire has also mentioned that she lost her uncle during The Blitz, when he was lecturing in the British Museum auditorium and it was bombed during WWII.

Uncle Lamb's introduction in Outlander: Blood of My Blood has opened a host of possibilities for Claire and her parents' backstory for Season 2.

More on this in our story.

All about Uncle Lamb's introduction in the Outlander: Blood of My Blood finale

Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts first revealed Uncle Lamb's presence in the prequel series at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. Since Henry's brother was such an important figure in Claire's formative years, after her parents' death, it was only befitting that he is honoured in the prequel series.

Uncle Lamb was introduced in the Outlander: Blood of My Blood finale during a flashback to 1920s London, when Julia and Henry were celebrating the 2nd birthday of their daughter, Claire. In addition to an adorable baby Claire, we also got to see Uncle Lamb in his prime, showering his love on his niece.

While the moment is fleeting, it clearly shows Q's affection towards his brother's daughter. In a little foreshadowing, Q also claims that Claire ''has the spirit of an explorer'' and wishes that her adventures take her to faraway places. Julia even jokingly asks Q to let her daughter stay with her for a while before she is off on her adventures. A heartbreaking easter egg for fans who know that she is about to be parted from her daughter very soon.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood established Claire and Uncle Lamb's close bond

In addition to introducing Uncle Lamb in the prequel's universe, the Outlander: Blood of My Blood finale also featured his close bond with Claire. When Henry reveals his plan for a romantic getaway with his wife to Julia, we can see Uncle Lamb playing with Claire by the ocean. In another moment of subtle foreshadowing, while Julia is worried about leaving Claire alone, Henry assures her that Q would take care of her.

It was abundantly clear that Henry and Julia trusted Q enough to leave their 2-year-old daughter in his care. The finale also saw the couple's fateful goodbye to their daughter at the train station before they leave for their trip to Inverness, unaware that they would never return to their home again.

While the Season 1 finale ended on a cliffhanger, where Julia and Henry were about to touch the stones with baby William, seasoned fans know that they were unable to return to their own time and Claire grew up with Uncle Lamb, thinking that her parents died during the car crash.

With Uncle Lamb's introduction in the spin-off, Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 could likely focus on his character and give us glimpses of his life in the 20th century with Claire.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 1 is streaming on Starz.
