Love Island UK season 12 episode 22 dropped on ITV on June 30, 2025. The episode featured a recoupling ceremony, which saw the boys pick their partner among the girls. The one lady who is left single will have to pack her bags and leave the villa immediately.
However, some questionable choices were made that left the viewers shocked, especially with Ben. It was seen that he was in a couple with Yasmin earlier, but the two broke off and their relationship ended on a sour note when they argued in front of the whole villa, and he accused her of being nothing without him.
On another note, Megan, Tommy's strongest connection since day one on Love Island UK, has now departed, and he has picked Emily now. As for Yasmin, she got coupled up with the newest bombshell, Gio. The two have a strong connection, and he claimed that he wants to get to know her more.
Then came Harry's chance to pick up his girl. The Love Island UK cast was wondering who he would pick because he has a connection with Shakira, but recently snogged Helena in the challenge.
He decided to go with Shakira. Then it was Ben's turn. He turned to Helena and decided to choose her out of the mix. It was shocking because it felt like Harrison had high hopes of getting paired up with her.
The two have been hanging out a lot lately. They even kissed outside of their couple's in the Hideaway. Now that Harrison was left without the girl that he wanted to be with, he decided to pair up with Toni once again.
As for Alima and Connor, they also coupled up but decided that it was more of a friendship between them.
Love Island UK Season 12 - Ben pairs up with Helena
Love Island UK fans were shocked at this pairing, and a majority of them were hoping that Ben and Helena would get dumped next. Such negative views are because Ben has been nothing but problematic in the villa thus far and is not treating the women with respect. This behavior was seen especially when his conversation with Yas went south.
She just wanted to confront him about everything that he had been saying behind her back to the boys. But Ben got defensive and started throwing jabs at Yas herself, and was constantly urging her to scream at him so everyone could witness how she is.
However, Yas kept it cool and classy, but taught him a lesson. Ben was still trying to badmouth her in front of the villa by saying that she is "irrelevant" and is only on the radar of the men to get to know her because of him. To this, Yas said that Ben must think that the world revolves around him, but it does not.
As for Love Island UK viewers, they are disappointed for yet another reason due to this recoupling ceremony.
There has been a lot of tension between the Toni, Harrison, and Helena love triangle, and everyone wanted to see who he would pick between the two. But he never got the chance to see it through because Ben had already paired up with one of the girls.
