The July 28, 2025, episode of Below Deck Season 12 featured one of the show’s most intense charter experiences to date when the crew was forced to call the police on an intoxicated guest. The episode showed Kelly, a vacationer aboard the St. David, engaging in increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior.

After overconsuming alcohol, she jumped into the Caribbean Sea without a life vest, directly violating safety instructions issued by Captain Kerry Titheradge. Her refusal to comply with repeated warnings, physical altercations with the crew, and verbal threats, including one claiming ties to the FBI, led Captain Kerry to alert the authorities and have her removed from the yacht.

The incident marked a rare moment in Below Deck history, as safety concerns escalated beyond crew management and required law enforcement intervention.

Below Deck crew forced to call police after guest endangers herself and others

During the Below Deck episode aired on July 28, Kelly boarded the yacht with her group of friends and was soon seen heavily intoxicated. Disregarding multiple safety warnings, she jumped into the water without a life jacket. Captain Kerry Titheradge, visibly concerned, told her fellow guests:

“I’m gonna have to cut off Kelly. She’s had too much to drink.”

One of her companions, Helen, agreed, responding:

“100 percent okay with that.”

Despite the intervention, Kelly ignored Captain Kerry’s direct orders. After diving into the sea, the captain commented during a confession:

“Her jumping in the water right now, that’s a big f**k you. Now, what’s important to me is her safety and my crew’s. When I ask you specifically not to do something and you go right against what I say, we’ve got a friggin’ problem.”

Kelly continued to resist authority as she returned to the boat, prompting Deckhand Jess Theron to follow her. Captain Kerry gave a stern final warning, threatening to call authorities if she didn’t comply. Kelly pushed back defiantly, insisting she could do whatever she wanted and demanded:

“I need a f**king safety.”

The Below Deck crew then formed a human shield to escort her back inside. She resisted physically and pushed against the crew. When she began threatening the captain directly, Kerry had no choice but to call the police. In the presence of the crew and guests, Kelly shouted:

“I got connections, I got the FBI in my family.”

She then added:

“They’re f**king a**holes. They’re Democrats! Democrats!”

Kerry made it clear that he wouldn’t tolerate any defiance. He reminded Kelly that it didn’t matter who she knew — he was the sole authority on board and ordered her back to her cabin.

Later, while speaking to the crew, he explained that Kelly had scratched him during the confrontation and advised them to form a barrier around her if needed. He told them to avoid physical contact when possible and clarified that safety took priority. In a later confession, Kerry explained his decision to call the police:

“I’ve tried every avenue to calm her down. Her friends aren’t talking her down, she’s tried to attack me, she’s threatened me. She’s extremely drunk. She could further hurt herself, she could drown. I gotta do what it takes to keep her safe.”

Recurring incidents of unruly behavior on Below Deck

Below Deck has featured numerous confrontations with unruly guests in the past. In Season 8, a guest named Delores drunkenly jumped into the ocean late at night against Captain Lee Rosbach’s orders. As a result, he ended her charter early. However, while being escorted off the boat, she jumped into the ocean again.

In another memorable Below Deck moment, a guest demanded a foam party and ended up partying in just four inches of foam, generating reactions from both the crew and viewers. Season 8 also saw drama unfold when two guests fought over deckhand James Hough, resulting in a dinner confrontation after one guest accused her friend of stealing her romantic interest.

Below Deck continues to air Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo TV.
