AJ and Britney walked in together on The Ultimatum: Queer Love to test their connection and find out if they are ready to settle down with each other, to get married or not.

The show follows a format that sees the couples breaking up for the time being, coupling with someone new among themselves, and locking down for three weeks, called a trial marriage. During this, they find out if their connection is better with the new match or their original one.

AJ had one issue with her girlfriend, Britney. The latter seems to work a lot and has not given a lot of attention to AJ. However, Britney wants to get married but AJ had doubts in her head about the same and thus, they came on The Ultimatum: Queer Love.

She connected with two ladies, Marie and Marita, the most. When D-Day came, she chose Marie to be her partner. Talking to Vulture about her decision, AJ explained,

"Marie showed me that she really wants to take care of her partner. Even with her having the food business and being an entrepreneur, she still is like, I wants to be at home. I want to work with my partner. I don’t want to just work, work, work. That was important to me. What is a work-life balance? If you have it, what does that look like?"

The Ultimatum: Queer Love star AJ also acknowledged how she got into hot water when she acted mysterious and did not reveal whom she was really into until the last day of selection. She said her intentions were not to "upset" anyone by revealing her inclination.

However, now that the initial episodes of the show have dropped on Netflix and she watched it, AJ understands that people were communicating about their number one match and who they were.

But she still does not see a problem in the fact that six people called out her name because she had not "promised" herself to anyone.

Another facet of AJ that was pointed out during The Ultimatum: Queer Love was her flirtatious nature, which even got her a confrontation from Bridget. Talking about the same, she said that this was just one aspect which was shown a lot, but there is more to her. She said,

"What they showed is a lot of me being very flirtatious, and I feel like there was more to those conversations. I connected with a lot of people. I even connected with Pilar on our family issues because I used to go through what she was going through [in being estranged from her parents]. It was interesting to watch what was shown."

Another thing that the The Ultimatum: Queer Love producers did not show on TV was how AJ's parents were there to support her during this journey. She said that Black parents or Carribbean Black parents are not often seen supporting their queer children, but hers did.

Episode 1 to 7 of The Ultimatum: Queer Love are available to watch online via Netflix. The last three are scheduled to release on July 2, 2025.
