Will Jensen Ackles return to Tracker Season 3?

While Hartley will surely return as the lone wolf and the world’s best tracker with even more mysteries, the same cannot be said about his on-screen sibling, Russell Shaw.
While Ackles has only appeared twice as Russell Shaw, fans are already anticipating that the Supernatural alum will return in a more involved capacity in Tracker Season 3. While Russell’s character was surely intriguing, Season 2 barely scratched the surface of the siblings’ on-screen chemistry.
Since Tracker Season 3 will likely bring a host of dangerous and complicated cases for Colter, it would be nice to have his trusted brother by his side. In addition, Season 2 also teased the government conspiracy angle in Ontological Shock, where Ackles made an appearance. The show could easily bring the actor into a multiple-episode arc and explore this angle even further.
With Ackles busy with The Boys’ final season and Amazon Prime Video’s newest crime drama series, Countdown, it’s uncertain if he will return as Russell in Season 3. However, given the fan reaction to his character, the upcoming season should definitely invest in him.
After Supernatural, CBS' Tracker Season 3 should invest in another sibling duo with Jensen Ackles
Supernatural fans were in for a treat when Ackles made his Tracker debut in Season 1 Episode 12, Off the Books, which was rife with CW show references. Fans are still not over Ackles and Jared Padalecki’s chemistry as the Winchester brothers.
While nothing can come close to that, the Shaw brothers were equally charming together on-screen, and Hartley-Ackles chemistry showed a lot of potential for Tracker Season 3. After Dean and Sam Winchester, the procedural world could use another badass sibling duo in Colter and Russell, solving one mystery (albeit not supernatural) at a time.
With the shocking tease that Mary Dove Shaw might be responsible for their father’s murder, Russell can easily team up with his brother in Tracker Season 3 and find answers about his mother, He could also be reunited with their sister, Dory.
While Colter Shaw works best alone, the addition of Russell Shaw in some of the cases and deeper mysteries would surely enrich the procedural’s world. Fans would be greeted with another sibling duo featuring Jensen Ackles.
