Fox's popular crime thriller, The Cleaning Lady Season 4, concluded on June 3, 2025, with a thrilling two-episode finale. However, Fox has yet to renew the Elodie Yung-led series for a fifth season. Several viewers were left concerned when Fox's fall 2025 schedule did not include The Cleaning Lady in its lineup.
The Cleaning Lady debuted in January 2022 and quickly became a hit among viewers. It was soon renewed for two more seasons. However, viewership dropped significantly after Adan Canto, who played Arman Morales, died in 2024. Nevertheless, it was renewed for another fresh season, which was released in March. Season 4 of the crime thriller series regained momentum and gathered around 7/10 stars on IMDb.
The renewal and cancellation of a series depend heavily on factors such as storyline requirements, actors' availability, ratings, viewership, and production costs. The Cleaning Lady Season 4 finale concluded with several loose ends, leaving viewers wondering what might happen next, suggesting a possibility for renewal.
Additionally, Michael Thorn, president of Fox TV Network, said during the May upfront press (via Deadline)
"As for the other three outstanding scripted series, “The Cleaning Lady, Alert, and The Great North are still in the middle of their runs. We love the teams and those shows. I think there’ll be more to come after they finish their current seasons. As you know, we order series all year round; the upfronts for us is one cycle of ordering. And there will definitely be more sometime, probably later this summer.”
Thorn's statements suggest a potential opportunity for renewal, which may be announced later this year. While not much is known about Elodie Yung's upcoming projects, reports indicate that the 44-year-old French actress might join Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as Elektra.
How did The Cleaning Lady Season 4 end?
The Cleaning Lady Season 4 concludes with a dark and pivotal transformation for Thony De La Rosa, the undocumented immigrant surgeon who was drawn into the world of crime after witnessing a high-profile murder. Her journey from cleaning lady to a 'fake' cartel wife was far from easy. Thony's life undergoes drastic changes in Season 4 of The Cleaning Lady; she becomes involved in cartel power struggles, outsmarts Heller's takeover, and unexpectedly falls in love with Jorge.
After a chaotic prison break, Thony chose to bury Ramona after Fiona hit her with a shovel. The finale marks a turning point in Thony and Jorge's relationship. Their bond, forged in survival and complex emotions, fractures as Jorge decides to relocate after Feng's takeover of Sin Cara. They kiss before parting, as Thony chooses power over love. Before leaving, Jorge gives Thony former DA Thornfield's book of shady contacts. Jorge previously killed Thornfield, realizing he was the mole for the Hellers. Joel Hermann then became the DA after Thornfield was drowned in a hot tub.
Feng quietly engineers a bloodless coup within Sin Cara by exploiting Jorge and Ramona's weaknesses, becoming cartel leader. Thony gives DA Thornfield's notepad to Feng to gain his trust and a position in the cartel. She also becomes a double agent, agreeing to inform Hermann. Meanwhile, Ramona gasps for breath inside the grave, indicating she is not dead yet despite slim chances of survival. With Ramona buried, Jorge gone, and Feng in power, The Cleaning Lady ends its brutal chapter, setting the stage for Thony's reign in the shadows of Las Vegas.
