Following the classic fake relationship story, the latest K-drama, Would You Marry Me, has become the latest fan-favorite rom-com. It centers around Yoo Me-ri, the female lead played by actress Jung So-min, who is also in talks to lead a Netflix K-drama.

The actress is accompanied by another popular star, Choi Woo-shik, as the male lead. Their chemistry is widely discussed among fans on social media platforms, and the K-drama even topped the charts on Disney+.

What happened in Would You Marry Me episode 8: A quick recap

Episode 8 of Would You Marry Me features tender moments between Me-ri and Woo-joo as they're getting closer every day. Even Me-ri's mother is happy to see how much Woo-joo adores her. The couple takes a walk in the fields and remembers their childhood memories.

Woo-joo was finally able to share that he has been burdened by the thought of being responsible for Me-ri's father's death. She comforts and assures him that he sacrificed himself, and it wasn't anybody's fault.

The next morning, Me-ri's mother prepares a traditional son-in-law dish for Woo-joo and thanks him for being there for Me-ri. Meanwhile, Jin-gyeong finds comfort in Sang-hyun, while Han-gu secretly departs for America, plotting a financial scam.

Back in Seoul, Me-ri and Woo-joo keep their relationship under wraps at Myungsoondang. Though it's hard to act like they aren't a couple, Woo-joo and Me-ri manage the situation well.

But just as things seem to calm, her ex-fiancé Wu-ju reappears, furious and armed with the truth. Episode 8 of Would You Marry Me ends on a shocking cliffhanger as he confronts Me-ri with the fake marriage certificate, threatening to expose everything.

The next episode is going to be tense as Wu-ju will threaten Me-ri. He knows about the fake marriage now and will use the proof to separate Me-ri and Woo-joo. However, the preview also reveals Woo-joo confronting Me-ri's ex as he kept on bothering her.
