The third episode of Peacemaker Season 2, Another Rick Up My Sleeve, expands upon the alternate dimension that Chris visited in the first two episodes. The second episode ended with a drunk DCU Chris visiting the alternate dimension after a tense exchange with his home dimension's Emilia Harcourt. The first episode even confirmed that alternate dimension Chris and Harcourt used to be romantic partners.
The DCU Chris finally meets the alternate dimension Harcourt in the first act of the third episode. Like her DCU counterpart, Harcourt 2 (the alternate dimension version) works for A.R.G.U.S. However, fans noticed that she is more pleasant and nicer than her DCU counterpart. Moreover, many pointed out that she took time off her schedule to spend some time with the man she believed to be the Peacemaker she dated.
Why did Peacemaker Season 2's Harcourt 2 take time off her workday?
The simple answer to this is that the world is safer than the DCU continuity we are familiar with through Peacemaker Season 1, Creature Commandos, and Superman. The alternate dimension in Peacemaker Season 2 is a reality in which the Smith family, consisting of Chris, an alive and grown Keith, and an affectionate Auggie, is wealthy.
The Smith family also protects the world, this reality, explaining their wealth. Thus, it seems that A.R.G.U.S. is more of a formality in this dimension, and therefore, it might not have that much work in this reality. Hence, Harcourt 2 may not have gone through the same grueling experience that her DCU counterpart went through as an A.R.G.U.S. agent.
While things look idyllic on the surface, Peacemaker Season 2's alternate dimension might not be that great:
DCU Chris's interactions with the alternate dimension's Keith and Auggie have been some of the most emotional scenes in Peacemaker Season 2. However, Auggie and Keith look like affable people; many fans believe that this alternate dimension might be Earth X from the DC Comics lore. If you don't know, Earth X is the Earth where the Na*is won.
Just because Auggie is more loving towards his sons in this reality doesn't rule out the possibility that he was not a Fascist. After possibly helping the Fascists to overthrow the US government of this reality, this reality's Auggie helped to maintain this new oppressive regime and even trained his sons to do the same. Therefore, the Peacemaker and his family of this reality might not have been that noble after all.
Many also point out the lack of non-white extras in the background of the alternate dimension scenes as proof to back this fan theory. However, it should be noted that this theory remains unconfirmed, and we will learn more in the upcoming episodes of Peacemaker Season 2. James Gunn himself hinted at some major twists in the last three episodes of the second season at the red carpet premiere last month:
"It could mean they're terrible. That is one option. Or it could mean that there's a lot of major twists and turns in the last three episodes. And even though I'm sending the first five to a select few, things still get out as you know. Things got out already. You know, people who want to search can be spoiled on purpose, but I really don't want what's in those last three episodes to be spoiled. And so I'm keeping them close to the chest. I won't even let my publicist see them. That's the god's honest truth."
