On Beyond the Gates, Leslie put on some crocodile tears for Eva when she came around, but as soon as she left, Leslie smiled and was not at all worried about the evidence found.
Crocodile tears on Beyond the Gates

What started out as an episode of anticipation and joy seeing Jacob (Jibre Hordges) show up at Lelie's (Trisha Mann-Grant) apartment with another search warrant — and yet another game of Lelie's hide and seek with the evidence soon became disbelief and sighs. Jacob found what he was looking for, only because Kat (Colby Muhammed) put it there. But seeing it so soon and so easily presented its own problems: How did it get there, and how likely is this to look like evidence tampering — or worse?
Well, quite easily, as it turned out. As soon as it was discovered, Leslie even said how convenient it was and that it wasn't there the last time Jacob searched her house, suggesting it had been planted. So now Jacob is questioning that exact thing, even though Kat lied and assured him that she hadn't done it…well, not exactly. Kat merely asked how he could suspect her of something like that.
Unfortunately, the Judge on Beyond the Gates found it all too convenient as well and decided not to issue a warrant to obtain Leslie's DNA, based on the fact that the evidence just happened to show up in the second search so quickly after the first. Now that the bust is an actual bust, Detective Hawthorne needs a new angle.
Eva fell for her momma's tricks, again

Leslie summoned her daughter Eva (Ambyr Michelle), and at first, it was quite a convincing display of anger mixed with worry about what the police would do and whether she would get locked up. Eva said she was protecting her momma and still loved her — everything Leslie wanted to hear. But no sooner had her daughter left than Leslie was seen wiping away fake tears and beginning to smile.
The smile turned into a triumphant dance: “Leslie Thomas is here to stay.” Not one ounce of real concern was shown that she might get arrested or convicted at all. Supremely confident, I would describe that picture as. So why is Leslie so happy? Because she is still two steps ahead, and either there is zero of her DNA on the gloves and helmet, or it will steer the investigation in a new direction. Leslie is a lot of things: egotistical, conniving, and crazy, but she is not stupid.
At every turn and twist so far, Ms. Thomas has managed to find a chair under her bottom when the music stops, and all by design. Leslie doesn't have Kat's connections, but what she lacks, she makes up for by being able to think and react on the fly and adapt to the changing situation.
Never caught out wrong-footed or unaware for very long, Leslie makes a worthy adversary. After finding out that the warrant for Leslie's DNA won't be happening anytime soon, Kat will once again take matters into her own hands and will try to obtain a sample herself. Where can she look? Garland Memorial Hospital. A DNA test was just done recently to confirm Eva was Ted’s daughter — and they may just have her moms on record there too. Kat, you’re going to have to pull out all the stops before Leslie stops you herself.
