On Beyond the Gates, Leslie has gotten away with the perfect crimes, but can she stay one step ahead of the law, and Kat Richardson? How can Leslie be brought down?
Beyond the Gates’ one woman crime wave

Every week, we see Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) up to no good, making veiled threats, pulling strings from afar, and when her efforts pay off, good people get hurt. Arguments could be made that Ted (then Maurice Johnson) wasn't a good man, but when he told Kat (Colby Muhammed) that the affair he’d had with Leslie was over before Kat was born, and the father she grew up with was real, it was hard to deny his earnesty. But no matter if Ted and Kat work through their issues, hurt them all Leslie did.
All anyone could do was watch and wait for Leslie to get away with yet more mayhem. From running Laura off the road to her brazen poisoning in the hospital, Leslie didn’t care if she was just keeping Laura incapacitated or if she killed her. But now, Kat and the police are closing in on her. Can Leslie be brought down — and how would it stick?
A case against Leslie Thomas

At the moment, evidence against Leslie is in short supply. Kat has a recording on her phone of Leslie threatening her at Ted’s hotel room and implying that Eva was the culprit. Now, throwing your own daughter under the bus for your own crimes is pretty low rent, but Leslie went there, and on Eva’s birthday. But what Leslie doesn't realize is that Detective Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) is the epitome of a Boy Scout and will never give up, even after he’s exhausted all options. All Jacob needs to do is take Eva down to the station for questioning and ask her about all of Leslie's various wig-wearing identities.
If he then got a search warrant and found her wigs, he could use a little computer generation to put the wigs on Leslie's photo and see what she looks like with each one. Then he could investigate if Laura's poisoning was intentional. Shanice met Leslie under the guise of Nurse Lulu, and could identify her from a photo, plus security cameras in the hospital would have caught her at the time of Laura's heart attack. Could Leslie have avoided the security cameras? Well, maybe, but not when she was at the nurse's station, when she was looking up Laura's file. No way she avoided all the cameras there. Between being tied to the crime scene at the time of Laura's complications, a search of the apartment may turn up the potassium used or her record of obtaining it.

Leslie has no alibi for the night Laura was run off the road, nor when Laura was poisoned, the key would be getting a confession, which looks nigh on impossible, but could Eva testify against her mother? Maybe? Stay the course, Jacob, and look in all the right places, ask the right questions, and we can have Leslie in custody. Please, don't mess up the process; getting off on a technicality would really steal the jam out of my donut.
