It’s been a tough time for the Duprees since the show first aired, one heartbreak after another. First, Dani (Karla Mosley), after her marriage to Bill (Timon Kyle Durett) ended as painfully as it did, then with Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) secret threatening to explode onto the scene as well, now Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) broken-hearted after Ted’s (then Maurice Johnson) betrayal. Choices will need to be made, and lines will need to be drawn. In Wednesday's episode, the Duprees navigate heartbreak and hard truths as Eva (Ambyr Michelle) makes a fateful choice about her mother. Is this the final choice where Eva realises no good can come from supporting her mother?

Where is the love?

What started as a nice effort on Derek's (Ben Gavin) part to clean their apartment unraveled faster than a ball of yarn found by a kitten. One argument led to another, and Derek packed up and Ashley (Jen Jacob) left the house and found solace at Uptown, and found Andre (Sean Freeman). The timing is pretty bad all around here. Dani wouldn't commit to Andre, and he’s clearly not liking being just a dirty secret, and his feelings about Ashley are impossible to hide. Will their embrace and conversation be misconstrued by Derek as he overhears? Is this the final straw? One thing is for certain: Ashley won’t let anyone else clean her apartment for her again. Look out for this next conversation between Ashley and Derek to be a pivotal one. In Wednesday's episode, Ashley and Derek confront what’s left of their love.

The real Chelsea

For quite some time, it’s been known that Chelsea likes to dabble with a threesome involving a professional couple she met at Uptown. But recent events and their last encounter found Chelsea…appreciating the company of her wife more than that of her husband. Which led to her seeking counsel from Martin as to whether that's ok and if she could even entertain the idea. After meeting up with Allison (Brianna Roberts), they both agreed that they would like to try some time just the two of them without her husband. In Wednesday's episode, Chelsea opens up about who she is — even if it hurts. But who is getting hurt?
