Beyond the Gates’ Jibre Hordges takes new role

On Beyond the Gates, Jacob Hawthorne is a well-adjusted husband, detective, and friend. The actor who plays him, Jibre Hordges, is taking on a new role in the film Rhythm & Blood — and his character is no Jacob.

Jibre Hordges goes Beyond the Gates

While we're used to seeing Jibre Hordges on Beyond the Gates as Jacob, the actor has also been working on a film project that was released this month.

Hordges took to his Instagram to announce that his latest project had been released. His Beyond the Gates co-stars, such as Sean Freeman (Andre) and his on-screen wife, Arielle Prepetit (Naomi), showed their support, as well as his Rhythm & Blood co-star, Tyler Abron, and the writer of the film, Yvette Wren.

The film, which was released on May 16th, was produced by Marvista Entertainment and MockYeah Productions and is a Tubi original. Apart from Hordges and Abron, the film also stars Brendan Goshay, Kajuana S. Marie, Zing Ashford, Brandon Ball, Bonita Brisker, Lydia Castro, John N. Dixon, Joslyn Y Hall, Kai Malik, Essynce Moore, and Jaylin Randolph. Fans will recognize Brisker, who is joining BTG as Anita Dupree's (Tamara Tunie) former bandmate, Sharon.

The official IMDb synopsis for the film reads, "Facing escalating threats from a dangerous stalker, a pop megastar begins falling for the handsome bodyguard she's hired to keep her safe." In the film, Horges plays the bodyguard, but all is, apparently, not as it seems. The film has been well received, and Hordges expressed his gratitude to family, friends, and fans for their support.

Hordges' Jacob is now the lead detective on the case that his cousin, Kat (Colby Muhammad) has brought to light concerning Laura's (Destiny Love) accident and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Eva's (Ambyr Michelle) involvement.

Last week, Hordges was recognized as Soap Central's Performer of the Week for his portrayal of Jacob. Hordges' other recent projects include the film Sugar Mama, which was released earlier this year, as well as guest starring roles on shows such as Grown-ish and 9-1-1.
