The Young and the Restless actress Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter) has been dropped down to recurring status at the CBS soap opera but will reportedly still appear "on a regular basis."
Fans of the The Young and the Restless' Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter) are once again concerned with the actress' status at the soap opera, and this time, their fears may be warranted: she has been dropped down to recurring status.
The unfortunate news follows reports in April of this year that Fairbanks had been let go from Y&R, rumors that were proven to be untrue.
Fairbanks has yet to comment on being dropped down to recurring, but a behind-the-scenes source assures Soap Central that even though the actress is no longer on contract, "she is still on the show and working [on] a regular basis."
Fairbanks originally took on the role in the spring of 2017. She immediately wowed fans with her portrayal of the free-spirited singer and earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for her work last year, after becoming Mariah's (Camryn Grimes) love interest.
News of Fairbanks' drop in status comes in tandem with an announcement from Loren Lott (Ana Hamilton) that she was let go and has already filmed her final episode of Y&R. The casting moves for both women may be a hint that the CBS series is putting its recent musical focus on hold for the time being.
