The Young and the Restless star Lauralee Bell sends a special message to fans as Danny and Christine get engaged 

The moment that fans of Danny and Christine on The Young and the Restless have waited for is here! Danny is going to propose to Christine on the Thursday, July 10th episode. In honor of this momentous occasion, Lauralee Bell (Christine) is sending out a special message to loyal supporters who have waited for this moment.

"[A] 'New' beginning for #dannyandcricket after they met 41 years ago," Bell shared on Instagram. "I know so many of you were watching during the first proposal 35 years ago. So incredible how soaps can link us all together for decades. ❤️#thejourneycontinues."

Viewers have known this moment has been coming for a while as Danny (Michael Damian) ran by Daniel (Michael Graziadei) of his plan to ask for Christine's (Lauralee Bell) hand once again in marriage.

“I think the nostalgia is really beautiful and that's what they're connecting to as well,” Damian told People magazine of Danny and Christine's loyal fan base. “I think that they're like, ‘Oh, my God, finally.’ ”

“And we couldn't wait much longer because ... if one of us has to get down on a knee, perhaps it's not going to be any prettier in 10 years,” joked Bell.

Marry me, a little more

We've little doubt that Christine is going to turn down Danny's proposal, but viewers will have to tune in tomorrow to find out for sure!

Before leaving for Nice, France, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), the woman who tore the couple apart back in 1994, vowed to return. But the fiery redhead might find it more difficult to disrupt the lovebirds this time around if she chooses to do so.

Christine “became a badass," says Bell of her character's time away from Geona City. She added that she might just have to backhand Phyllis! The actress isn't opposed to Phyllis creating some on-screen conflict. (What would a soap be without drama?) However, she's hoping that the "I do's" are exchanged in the end, no matter what Phyllis may or may not try to do.

"Something is going to happen," suggests Damian, who throws out the idea that the outrageous Phyllis may go so far as to impersonate the officiator at the wedding!
