New leading man coming to The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless has put out a casting call for an all-American "playful, roguish adventurer" leading man. So, who's coming to Genoa City?

Call the Census Bureau, because The Young and the Restless' Genoa City is about to be populated by one more dashing resident. The CBS soap opera is reportedly on the hunt for a new leading man.

The character is described as an incredibly attractive and physically fit white, all-American leading man in his mid-30s. He's "a playful, roguish adventurer. Has seen enough to be jaded but strong enough to remain at heart an optimist. Tough-minded when he needs to be, yet isn't afraid to show his emotions to get his point across."

There's no word yet on whether this dashing all-American adventurer will be a brand-new character or a recast of someone previously seen in Genoa City. Some fans are already speculating that Y&R is recasting the role of Chance Chancellor, as the casting call describes Abby's (Melissa Ordway) absent love to a T. But is that truly a possibility?

As fans may recall, Chance's previous portrayer, Donny Boaz, was written off the canvas in February. At the time, the actor was told that Chance was not going to be recast but would simply "disappear." But things change, and one of the things that has changed is Abby has Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Devon (Bryton James) to make her dream of becoming a mother come true. Could Y&R be preparing to bring Chance back to Genoa City just in time for him to celebrate becoming a dad to a child made by his and Abby's friends? Or is the CBS soap opera planning to bring someone else to the canvas? Keep checking back to Soap Central for updates as they come!
