This week on The Young and the Restless, Billy informed Phyllis that Jack had decided to put the plan to have her steal the AI program back from Victor on the back burner. Phyllis appealed to Jack to reconsider, to no avail. Billy suggested to Jack that they keep all their options open. Nikki told Jack that she was backing off on her threat to leave Victor. Michael was torn when Victor gifted him with a valuable Roman coin. Kyle requested that Victoria rally the Newmans to stand up to Victor in defense of the Abbotts, but she would only agree to try to reason with her father. Sharon refused to let Noah leave the cottage for his own safety. Noah continued to dodge questions about his breakup with Allie. Matt and Annie held a drugged Sienna hostage in a motel room. Nick offered Matt one million dollars in exchange for Sienna’s safe return and Matt’s disappearance, but Matt demanded five million. Matt revealed to Annie that he intended to take the money and kill Noah and Sienna. Sally sensed that Audra was hiding a big secret involving Holden. Claire agreed to go out with Holden if he told her the whole story about what had happened between him and Audra in L.A. Lily confronted Cane about seeing him kissing Phyllis. Cane explained that if Lily had stuck around, she would have seen him push Phyllis away. Cane pleaded with Lily to admit they belonged together, and she succumbed to his kiss. With Chelsea ill and Billy out of town, Adam and Sally ended up spending a friendly New Year’s Eve together. Tessa confided to Daniel that she’d seen on her family tracking app that Mariah had left Boston and headed southwest without telling her. Tessa turned to Daniel for comfort, and they made love. Tessa later assured Daniel she had no regrets and announced that she’d contacted a lawyer to start divorce proceedings. Mariah holed up in a motel room and was tormented by visions of Ian, who urged her to let go of Tessa and Aria.
