At the Athletic Club bar, Jack and Diane discussed their plan to temporarily shut Jabot down to protect the company from Victor’s impending attack. Diane pledged to hold Victor accountable for his illegal use of the AI program. Jack was grateful that Diane had taken on the fight with him, proving she was just as much an Abbott as he was. Cane walked in and surmised Victor hadn’t yet attacked Jabot. Jack imagined Victor was still basking in the glory of defeating Arabesque.

Cane was happy with the outcome because leaving his company to his kids was less important than having a relationship with them. Diane clucked that Cane’s lack of safeguarding had left the rest of them scrambling to protect themselves from the cyberweapon he’d created out of his own greed. Jack declared that Cane would be held responsible if any other family legacies were destroyed.

Cane took full responsibility for creating the program and being derelict in his duty to provide safeguards. He thought it was worth something that he’d alerted the Abbotts after he had realized that it had been stolen, but Jack lectured that Cane’s pang of conscience had happened too late. Cane asked if there was anything he could do to help. Jack suggested that Cane stay as far away from their family as possible.

At the jazz club, Adam joined Phyllis at the bar and informed her that he had a message to deliver from his father. Phyllis grumbled that she had no business with the Newmans, but Adam questioned whether she had business with Jabot. She voiced surprise that the Newmans hadn’t unleashed the AI software on Jabot already. Adam explained that they wanted to make sure the Abbotts were distracted, and the Abbott Communications launch party the next day would be the perfect opportunity.

Phyllis was determined to be at the party to see Billy’s head explode. Adam mentioned that his sources at Jabot had informed him that moves were being made in anticipation of an attack, but he didn’t have any details. Adam suggested that Phyllis try to figure out what Jack was trying to do, but she pointed out that Jack believed she’d stolen the AI software. Adam noted that she had, but Phyllis countered that no one could prove it.

Phyllis reminded Adam that Victor had agreed to turn Jabot over to her in exchange for the software. Adam promised that his father would deliver, but it might trigger suspicions if Phyllis took over soon after the attack. Phyllis revealed that Cane was already suspicious and had gone to great lengths to get her to confess. Phyllis complained that the game of stringing Cane along was starting to bore her. Adam swore that things would move quickly after the party the following night.

Phyllis sensed that Adam wasn’t totally on board with the plan because Jack had always been good to Adam. Phyllis imagined it would be tough for Adam to stick a knife in Jack’s back, but Adam muttered that he had reasons that didn’t concern her. Phyllis warned that trying to sabotage the deal wouldn’t be good for any of them. Cane approached and asked what the two could have to talk about. “You,” Phyllis replied.

Phyllis claimed that she’d been telling Adam how Cane had lost everything because of Victor’s attack. Adam maintained that there was no proof against his father, and he contemplated how Cane had managed to convince a usually savvy woman to stand by him. Adam stood up to leave and told Phyllis not to forget about his proposal. After Adam departed, Cane pushed to know what Phyllis and Adam had really been talking about.

Cane urged Phyllis to make good on her promise to tell him how she’d been involved in the AI theft. Phyllis reiterated that she hadn’t stolen it, and there would be no hard feelings if they didn’t enter into a partnership. Cane accused her of continuing to lie after he’d given her every chance to confess, and he was convinced he could never trust her. He ranted that it had never been about a connection between them, and she’d just been looking out for herself. Cane hissed that she’d stabbed him in the back, and he’d make her pay.

Phyllis said Cane had no assets or power, and his word was as empty as he was. Cane intended to sabotage every chance that she had of taking over Jabot or finding gainful employment. Phyllis wished him luck with anyone taking him at his word. She accused him of pretending with her the entire time, plotting revenge against her while sleeping with her. Cane contended that his offer to collaborate had been sincere, but she’d blown it, and she was going to regret not trusting him.

Upstairs, Adam ran into Jack and Diane. Jack wondered if the attack on Cane and Arabesque was a harbinger of things to come. Adam claimed not to know. Jack asked Adam to give Victor a message when he was back in town. “Better luck next time!” Jack proclaimed.

In a Los Angeles hotel room, Sharon and Victor were relieved when Nick returned with Noah and Sienna. Noah regretted that he hadn’t listened to his parents’ warning about Matt Clark. Sienna introduced herself to Victor, who flatly stated that he knew who she was, but he questioned where her husband was. Sienna swore she had no idea where Matt was, but she was happy to cooperate with the police to help ensure his arrest. Nick fretted that no one was safe until Matt was behind bars or dead.

Victor divulged that he’d decimated Matt’s business by transferring all of Matt’s assets to a private account. Sienna wondered where it left her. Victor assured Sienna that she would be taken care of in one way or another. Noah insisted that Sienna return to Genoa City with them, but Sharon recommended that they hold off on making plans after everything they’d been through. Noah protested that Sienna couldn’t stay in L.A. Nick asked for a moment to speak with his son, and Victor led Sienna to the lobby.

Nick asked, “What the hell” had Noah been thinking? Noah refused to let Sienna deal with the fallout alone. Sharon and Nick argued against taking Sienna home with them, noting it would roll out the red carpet for Matt to show up in Genoa City. Noah welcomed the chance to pay Matt back, but Nick barked that Noah didn’t understand the hatred the man had for their family. Noah worried about what Matt would do if he got Sienna again, and he wouldn’t leave her behind with Matt still at large.

Noah argued that his parents didn’t know Sienna, but Nick countered that neither did Noah. Nick pointed out that Noah had trusted Matt, and he thought his son wasn’t thinking clearly. Sharon encouraged Noah to give himself time to recover, but Noah was adamant that Sienna was a good person who wanted nothing to do with Matt. Nick asked if Noah wanted nothing to do with Allie. Noah conceded that things hadn’t been going great in London, and he insisted they drop the topic.

In the hotel lobby, Victor told Sienna that anyone who harmed any member of his family had to deal with him. Sienna inquired whether it was a warning for Matt or for her. She asked what Victor had meant when he’d said he’d decimated Matt’s business. Victor announced that Matt Clark would no longer be able to buy a cocktail, let alone run a business, because his assets were gone, and the club was no longer his. Victor predicted that Matt would be behind bars by the next day.

Sienna recalled that Matt had been proud of building a fortune by himself, but Victor spat that the money had been made by dealing drugs. Sienna swore she hadn’t known anything about Matt’s illegal activities or his past. She recounted that she’d met Matt at a low point in her life, and he’d charmed her and made her feel special. She compared Matt’s drug dealings to how he’d gotten her addicted to the attention he’d once paid to her, only to later withhold it to make her want it more.

Sienna praised Noah for making her feel worthy, but she’d seen the looks on his family’s faces when he’d mentioned her going with them to Genoa City. Sienna wailed that she didn’t know what to do, since she had no means to support herself. Victor offered to compensate her, but she guessed that he was really offering her a bribe to stay away from Noah.

Sienna inquired about Victor’s plans for the Shadow Room, and Victor shared that it belonged to Noah. Victor called Sienna a magnet for trouble. Sienna appreciated Victor’s honesty, and she intended to extend the same courtesy. She recalled a promise she’d made to herself when she’d started distancing herself from Matt to never allow anyone to bully or buy her again. Sienna asserted that Noah could decide whether or not he wanted her in his life.

Victor and Sienna returned to the hotel room. Victor made a call for the jet to be on standby to leave for home right away. Noah asked what Sienna had decided about going to Genoa City.

Matt stormed into the Shadow Room and poured a drink. He made a call and ordered someone to check all his accounts. He became irate upon hearing the status. “Victor Newman, you son of a bitch!” he yelled. Matt left a voicemail for Annie, pleading to find out what had happened with Burrow. He downed another drink and angrily tried to remove his wedding band, but it was stuck.

Later, Annie entered the club and assumed Matt hadn’t caught up with Noah and Sienna. Annie admitted that Burrow had gotten the better of her, and she’d lost control of her gun but managed to get away. Matt anticipated that the club would soon be crawling with cops. Annie implored Matt to take his cash and disappear, but he lamented that Victor’s AI program had taken everything, so he couldn’t afford to run or hide.

Matt vowed to find leverage against the Newmans to get back everything that was his and then disappear. Annie asked what kind of leverage. “Something they’re never gonna see coming,” Matt ominously replied.
