Jack, Diane, and Kyle got acclimated to their next part of the journey to Dumas's chateau as they boarded the same train cabin that the Newmans rode. The Abbotts agreed to be ready for whatever Dumas threw at them.

Diane hoped that the trip would allow her to relax, but she felt that wasn't going to be possible after Jack pointed out that Dumas may want to pit his guests against each other. Kyle read the "wait" and "hope" card that was left for the Newmans to read, too. Jack suspected this could be the downfall of Victor Newman.

Jack surmised that Nikki was already on the train as he could smell traces of her perfume. Diane was taken aback a little bit that her husband remembered his ex-wife's scent. Diane's mood didn't improve when Audra Charles entered the compartment, given Audra's scheme to bring down Kyle.

Audra commented that the trio of Abbotts looked like they were going to a funeral and not a big gala at Dumas's estate. Audra quipped that Claire couldn't make the trip because she was nursing her dad's cold. Diane suggested Audra show some compassion over Cole's illness, as it was serious. Audra said she didn't know the degree of Cole's condition.

Jack and Diane bantered with Audra on how their tried and true perfume will beat Audra's new fragrance. Audra wondered how people would respond to their perfume battle since her product was so superior. "What's not to love?" Audra asked rhetorically. "So much," Diane sighed.

Jack turned the topic to food and asked if anyone was hungry. Audra opened a bottle of champagne and said she loved the sound of the cork popping. Jack and Diane didn't want to have any bubbly, but Kyle agreed to join his rival in a glass. She toasted to the adventure ahead while Kyle predicted her downfall. Diane wondered how Audra snagged an invitation to Dumas's gala since it was for Genoa City's business elite only. Audra responded by joking that she was sleeping with the enigmatic host. Kyle said Audra, having been Tucker's assistant, was nothing to brag about in terms of being a player in the business world. Audra shot back that neither was being the "nepo baby" that Kyle was, but "here we are." Jack smirked at Audra's witty banter.

The train arrived at its destination. Diane suggested Audra bow out now since she was in over her head. Audra shot back that her being underestimated would make her victory all the sweeter.

Meanwhile, Nick, Sharon, Victor, and Nikki met with Carter, Dumas's assistant. Sharon marveled at the estate. Nick observed that being there was like stepping back in time. Carter guided Nick and Sharon into the maze of shrubbery at the mogul's estate.

Billy and Sally had already gone one way. Sally realized that they might be lost. Billy kissed her and said he's never lost when he's with her. Sally was impressed by Dumas's estate. Sally felt like Alice in Alice in Wonderland. Billy cautioned her to be careful of "The Mad Hatter." Sally quipped if by that he meant Dumas or Victor. Sally got caught up in the whimsy of the adventure. She and Billy came upon a lavish, outdoor dining table, gourmet food, and flowers. They didn't disrupt the festive spread. Sally commented that Dumas's estate had flowers on it that she'd never seen before.

Billy took pictures of the grounds with his phone. He hoped that these pictures would get Abbott Communications some impressions. Sally complimented Billy on his smart idea. Then, she took Billy to a more secluded spot to keep him from having any food. They kissed. Billy suggested that going back to the train might be preferable to staying at Dumas's chateau.

Meanwhile, Nick and Sharon, and Victor and Nikki continued to walk through the maze of shrubbery. Nikki rested on a bench and shared that they felt they were being toyed with. Sharon suggested they relax. Nick advised taking it easy. Nikki wanted to go back to the train. Nick and Sharon continued through the maze, leaving Nikki and Victor behind. Nikki told Victor she wanted to know what he thought of all of this. "No, you don't," Victor quipped. Nikki's husband told her that his plan to handle Dumas would be revealed in due time.

Meanwhile, Sharon recalled a time when Faith had gotten lost amidst some haystacks. Sharon remembered Faith called out for Nick to help find her. She asked her ex not to downplay the fact that he was a good father. Nick acknowledged that it meant a lot to him.

Nick and Sharon smelled food and wanted to head in that direction. Just then, they reunited with Victor and Nikki. Victor shot down Nick's half-hearted suggestion they go back to Genoa City. Victor surmised that Dumas wanted to wear them down by having them go through the maze. "Pretty sure we already went this way," Nick quipped as the four continued their journey.

Nick and Sharon, and Victor and Nikki came upon the lavish spread with the dining table, food, and flowers. Then, Billy and Sally rejoined them. Victor chuckled when Billy suggested that Billy and Dumas were going to get along great. As the tension between Victor and Billy increased, Nick advised Billy to chill out. Nikki asked the men to set aside their animosity. Victor couldn't let it go. He accused Billy of being way over his head. Billy pointed out that Victor, as usual, was acting like the center of the universe, which, Billy added, he was not.

Meanwhile, Sharon commented on Dumas's flowers. Billy and Nick agreed on one thing -- they were both hungry. Victor shared that Dumas's assistant said his boss wouldn't appear until everyone had gotten there.

In a private moment with her ex-husband, Sharon thanked Nick for inviting her on this remarkable trip. She did wish there wasn't as much tension between Adam and Victor, and also, between Nikki and her. Nick shrugged that his mother wouldn't approve of any woman for him. Sharon theorized that things would get worse once Phyllis arrived. Nick asked how Sharon could talk that way about her new "bestie."

Nikki told Victor she felt sympathy for Sharon, given her ordeal with Martin, but she had her trip to London with Nick. Wasn't that enough? Nikki wondered why Sharon had to come with the Newmans on this trip. Nikki didn't want Victor to ever use the word "partner" with Sharon in terms of Nick. She didn't want them to get back together. Then, Billy asked if anyone knew any jokes that they could tell. Victor said he was looking at one.

Next, Carter greeted Kyle, Audra, Jack, and Diane. Kyle went to shake Carter's hand, but he refused. He did acknowledge that he knew who Kyle was. Audra suggested to Kyle that they not tip their hand about the perfume competition. Diane asked Carter if this was some kind of trick when he invited them to go into the maze of shrubbery. Carter let the four know that the Winters family and Phyllis had yet to arrive. Diane and Jack said that they didn't know that his ex-wife was among the guests. Meanwhile, Phyllis helped herself to some champagne on Dumas's train. She appeared unaware that she was being observed on a monitor.

Diane, Jack, Audra, and Kyle continued through the maze. Diane and Audra quibbled over getting lost. Audra suggested that Kyle and she go one way and Jack and Diane go the other. Jack agreed to that plan. Diane advised against it as Kyle and Audra had to appear as industry rivals. Dumas might not believe that if they showed up together at the same time.

Later, Jack, Diane, Kyle, and Audra met up with the Newman quartet and Billy and Sally. Carter appeared and said he had news to share. Dumas's assistant said that his boss was going to be delayed, but that everyone should enjoy the food and the surroundings. Jack wanted specifics, which prompted a curt Carter to say, "Good day" before he exited. Nikki suggested that this was all a big con. Victor said the plot thickens. Meanwhile, a mysterious man watched the group on a monitor.
