On the Tuesday, October 28th episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis sells the AI program to Victor under a surprising condition, Billy punches Adam, and Jack worries about the future of Jabot.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Adam approached Billy at the GCAC bar, and he was immediately intrigued by the string of texts on his rival's phone. Adam taunted Billy about the failed launches of Abbott Communications, but Billy was confident that Newman Media should be on guard. Adam said, "I am curious, though, what level of ineptitude does it take to get you demoted at a company that you created before it's even open for business." He joked that he understood if Billy had another letdown, but Billy maintained he placed Sally in the CEO position himself because of his faith in her.
Adam didn't believe Billy's claim about Sally, which led Billy to bring up Adam and Sally's past relationship. Billy felt as if Adam took Sally for granted and cheated on her. He wondered if it stung to see him and Sally together, but Adam bragged about the solid foundations of his relationship with Chelsea. Billy expressed concern for Chelsea because her rose-colored view of Adam would inevitably hurt her in the end. Adam thought Billy would inevitably drag Sally down with him, and he believed his former flame deserved better.
Billy acknowledged that Adam would be invited to the Abbott Communications event, but his nemesis declined. He assumed the company launch would fall to pieces again, so he had no desire to be there. Billy wanted to wipe Newman Media off the map, but Adam didn't think Billy would ever come close to what her and Chelsea were building at their company. Adam accused Billy of being all hype with no success to speak of, and he complimented him for putting Sally in the CEO chair.
Adam knew Billy would need someone to save him from himself, the same way Jack did when he withdrew as an investor in the company. However, Billy confessed that it was his idea for Jack not to be involved. Adam remarked that Jill had more faith in his faux bro, Cane, than she did in him. Adam was on a mission to hit every possible button that would trigger Billy, and stopped short only of mentioning Delia. Everything else appeared to be fair game in their war of words.
Adam told Billy that nobody in his life trusted him, and Billy cautioned him to back off. Instead, Adam kept running his mouth about Jill. He told Billy, "Billy, you and your Little Engine That Could company are hardly competition." Adam urged Billy to cut his losses and stop being known as the least successful Abbott in Genoa City. He called Billy a failure and disappointment, which prompted Billy to deliver a fist to his face. Chelsea walked in amidst the fallout of the attack, completely horrified.
Chelsea didn't want to hear either man's argument; she just wanted it over. Billy left, but not before he teased the eventual downfall of Newman Media by Abbott Communications. Chelsea blamed Billy for the assault, and she cited his desire to be a changed man as the reason he should be held fully responsible. However, Adam shockingly took full ownership of the escalation and told Chelsea that he had it coming.
Adam couldn't resist throwing several verbal jabs at Billy, and Chelsea was stunned to hear him admit fault regarding anything related to Billy. Chelsea being on Adam's side for once allowed him to feel comfortable enough to be honest for once. Although Adam loathed Billy, they both harbored guilt for the fallout of their previous relationships. Before they could gush over their relationship any further, Adam received a text from Victor, who requested his immediate presence at the ranch.
Jack was unaware of any visitors stopping by the Abbott mansion, but Diane welcomed Cane into the foyer. Cane was the last person Jack ever expected to see, but he was there to warn him. He explained how his AI program was stolen, but their surprised look made it clear they weren't involved. He didn't think they'd be behind the malicious cyber attack, but he needed to cover his bases. Jack realized that he had someone else in mind, and Cane confirmed that he believed Victor to be behind the theft.
Diane thought that Cane allowing someone to steal his program was reckless, considering the power it possessed. She laid into him and said, "You spend millions of dollars creating one of the most dangerous AI programs imaginable, and then you return to Genoa City as some titan of industry determined to seize of all of the major companies in town. You've got every CEO quaking that you might use the program on them, and then what? You show up at our door and say, 'Oops, it's gone.'"
Cane's hands were tied regarding the program because having it may be slightly illegal. He knew how bad things looked, but the threat was too big for him to ignore. Jack denied it as an attack, instead announcing that it was a surefire guarantee that Victor would attack Jabot. Jack sought advice on how to stop the program from destroying decades of work at his family company. Unfortunately for Jack, Cane didn't know of any way to kill the program unless he already had it within his possession.
They were furious at Cane for having created it in the first place. Jack demanded that Cane retrieve the program before Victor did maximum damage. If Jabot was indeed attacked by The Mustache, Jack would hold Cane entirely responsible. Jabot was only in the situation because of Cane's mishandling, and Cane understood that. He underestimated Newman's tech team, but Diane considered Phyllis a potential culprit. Cane hoped she wouldn't sink to a new low, but Jack and Diane explained to Cane how Phyllis always looked out for herself.
They were worried about an impending attack from Victor, but Diane was grateful they had already increased cybersecurity measures. Jack ran down the list of ways Victor could annihilate his company, and it terrified him. Diane warned Jack how Victor would turn on him, and he admitted he was blinded by his desire to keep Jabot safe. Victor's vendetta against Jack would always remain his biggest focus, no matter what other threats loomed.
They focused so much on Cane that they didn't see Victor coming as a potential remaining threat. Diane expressed awe that Cane wouldn't have any safeguards to prevent an attack. They both discussed how Victor's attack was somewhat karmic because they wanted to do the same thing to him. However, in Victor's hands, the AI program becomes a far more dangerous weapon. They demanded that Kyle return home from Los Angeles, and Jack phoned Billy to request his arrival at the Abbott mansion.
After the meeting at the Abbott household, Cane received a text from one of his employees, and they informed him that Phyllis was at the Newman ranch.
Phyllis arrived at the Newman ranch, and he was eager to hear what she had to say. She told him she had an offer he couldn’t refuse. She warned him that if he didn’t listen to her, the outcome wouldn't turn out well for him. Phyllis happily revealed, "I've stolen Cane's AI program. I wanna make a deal with you. Interested?" She was all too proud of herself when she admitted she stole the program. He was confused why she chose him, but she was confident he'd agree to the terms she would lay out for him.
Victor knew Phyllis and Cane had gotten close, so he was reluctant to trust her at face value. She provided proof that she indeed possessed the program, and she felt like she was in the driver's seat this time. Still, Victor was skeptical because Phyllis is, well, Phyllis. She knew he'd have doubts, so she presented him with the AI's ability to infiltrate Jabot from the inside. Even though the program was stolen from Cane, Phyllis believed Cane trusted her and thought Victor did it. She wouldn't reveal why she and Cane were on the outs, but Phyllis knew Victor hated Jack more than his distrust of her.
Victor asked Phyllis what was in it for her, and she was more than happy to divulge everything. Phyllis told Victor she wanted to finally make things right, but if he declined, she would take the deal to the highest bidder. She wanted to make the deal with Victor above everything else. He told Phyllis she was everything everyone accused her of being, but in the end, he accepted her offer to buy the AI program.
Phyllis returned to the GCAC, and Cane wallowed in the fallout. She feigned ignorance about knowing any updates and confessed she hadn't had any luck. However, Cane was finished with games and outright accused her of stabbing him in the back. He asked, "Did you strike up a cozy deal about my software program? What did he promise you for it?" She thought they had each other's backs, so she was offended he had her followed. Phyllis expected that, but Cane touted the power of the program as the reason he couldn't one hundred percent trust anyone.
Phyllis told Cane her feelings were hurt, but she only visited Victor to figure out what he planned to do with the program. He didn't buy it. Cane knew she'd only show her face at Victor's doorstep to cut herself a monumental deal.
At the ranch, Chelsea and Adam hurried to Victor’s ranch following their abrupt summons. Chelsea first believed it was related to Noah's injuries, but he had no updates about that. Nikki and Victoria were en route to Los Angeles to help Nick and Sharon, and Nick requested that Noah's accident remain out of the press. Victor asked them to take a seat, but he tried to sweep Chelsea out of the room first. Adam pushed for Chelsea to remain in the room, and while Victor agreed, he asked Chelsea to keep quiet about what she would hear.
Victor explained that Phyllis stopped by and offered Cane's AI program on a silver platter. They couldn't believe that Phyllis betrayed Cane, and Victor confirmed it wasn't a trap from Cane. He admitted Phyllis had a favor if he accepted the deal, and Adam was impressed by Phyllis' talents. Phyllis didn't want to dirty her hands, and Victor was happy to get into the weeds in this instance. She was adamant that Victor was the person behind the theft of her program, and she expected him to go after Cane's company.
Adam and Chelsea were surprised that Phyllis and Cane knew his target would be Jack and Jabot. He doesn't want to demolish Jabot, but he wants to decimate Jack. Victor asked Chelsea to deal with him, attacking the Abbotts because she was part of the family. Adam wanted more details about the deal he made with Victor. Victor told them, "As soon as I've wrestled control of Jabot from Jack Abbott, we hand it over to Phyllis."
