This week on The Young and the Restless was a sad one for Nick and Sharon. Their son Noah's life is hanging in the balance, all because someone apparently ran him off the road in his car. But is there more to the story?

And why did Sienna Bacall phone Noah on Friday's episode? What role does she play in his life?

What happened Friday on The Young and the Restless

On Friday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Nick (Joshua Morrow) was puzzled when Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) called Noah (Lucas Adams) on his cell phone. When Nick asked who she was, she simply said, "a friend." Nick explained that he was Noah's father, and Noah was in a serious car accident. She looked surprised, or was that a look of fear? She asked whether Noah was going to recover. Nick refused to give any further information until she told him how she knew Noah and whether she knew what Noah was doing on the road where the accident took place. She quickly hung up, saying, "I hope he's going to be okay."

Since we've only seen Sienna in a couple of episodes so far, we don't know yet whether she's a character we can trust and whether she truly is Noah's friend. Her evasiveness makes us wonder whether she was involved in the accident in some way. If she wasn't, then does she know who was?

She must know that Noah is a member of the wealthy Newman family, and maybe she's heard all about The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Perhaps that's why she was afraid to give Nick details about her connection to Noah. She knows the Newmans are powerful, and she doesn't want to get in hot water with them.

Why did she call Noah four times?

Did Sienna's last conversation with Noah end in an argument, and now she's reaching out to try to make amends? It feels like that could be one possibility, since Nick discovered four missed calls from her on Noah's phone. But could there be a darker reason for her calls?

What kind of crowd has Noah been hanging out with since he moved to L.A. and opened his own nightclub? Has he gotten mixed up in gambling or drugs? Is his club not bringing in as much business as he's been telling his family? Maybe he's deep in debt and too proud to ask his them for help. He knows how important success is to his grandfather Victor.

Is Sienna calling Noah because he owes her money? And what about that shady detective who questioned Nick and Sharon (Sharon Case) and later spoke to an unseen person, saying, "They seem to have bought it." What connection does he have to Sienna, if any -- and more importantly, to Noah?

Did Holden cause Noah's injuries?

In the sneak peek for next week on The Young and the Restless, Sienna appears to be in a very intense conversation with Holden (Nathan Owens). Fans are divided over him. He's charming, but can we trust him? We already know he and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) are keeping a sinister secret about something horrible that happened when they were living in L.A. Who knows what other secrets Holden may be keeping? Are he and Sienna arguing here about Noah's accident?

Holden once told Daniel (Michael Graziadei) that he always wanted to open his own nightclub. Maybe he wanted to buy the club that Noah is running, but Noah screwed him out of the opportunity. Maybe Holden sought revenge by running Noah off the road. Was Sienna in the car with Holden at the time? There are so many questions in this storyline -- maybe too many. The plot is getting thicker than a milkshake. It feels like Holden and Audra's secret somehow involves both Noah and Sienna. If so, let's hope we find out in the upcoming weeks.
