Isaac calls Carly to tell her that her dress is still missing from the model auditions. Carly interrupts Rose and Paul at the Lakeview to give him an update about the missing dress. Paul is forced to leave Rose, who grows concerned that their jobs won't leave very much time for the two of them to be together. Jen arrives at Java and tells Bonnie that she is accepting the job to be the new face of BRO. The girls talk about going to New York for the show and Jen promises to try to get Bonnie a spot in the show as well. Paul agrees to hire Bonnie. He discusses the missing dress with Isaac and discovers that James was at Java on the night of the auditions. Billy asks Jen for another chance for them to be together. Jen is still hurt that he broke up with her because Craig told him to, and refuses his offer. Bonnie prepares for her modeling gig, but Jessica tells her that it's irresponsible to take time off from work to go model in New York. At Fairwinds, Barbara wonders why the dress was sent to her. When Paul arrives, Barbara is furious with him for keeping her in the dark about BRO and the model auditions. Paul calms Barbara down and promises not to keep any more secrets from her. She shows Paul the dress and informs him that she will be accompanying him to New York for the fashion show. Meanwhile, Lucinda pumps Rose for information about her relationship with Paul. Rose admits that she thinks he is keeping something from her. Lucinda assures Rose that she is an important part of Paul's life. Craig tells Carly that he is going with her to New York to protect her from Paul and Barbara. Carly asserts that she doesn't need his help and warns him that he will ruin any chance of them getting together if he follows her. Craig is excited that Carly has mentioned the possibility of them sharing a future.

Jen bubbles with excitement as she tells Hal and Emily about being the featured model in the BRO fashion show. Hal's surprised that Barbara changed her mind about allowing Jen to model. Jen confesses that Paul arranged it and also comes clean about Bryant leaving her his trust fund. After Jen leaves, Tom arrives, angry that Emily hasn't brought Daniel to his house yet. When Emily goes to get the boy ready, Tom warns Hal that she is trouble and reminds him of how she tried to destroy his marriage. Hal defends Emily, and tells Tom that as a cop raising five kids, he considers Emily the 'catch' in their relationship. Emily overhears the conversation, and after Tom leaves, she tells Hal that everything Tom said was true. She tells him how much it meant to her to hear him defend her and wishes she could be the woman he thinks she is.

Billy arrives at Craig's hotel suite to tell his uncle that he and Jen will continue to see each other. Craig warns that no matter what Bryant did, Jen was never satisfied and cheated on him with the first guy to come along, and she'll do the same to him. Billy lies to Craig that Bryant told him that he needed Craig's advice on the night he died, and insisted that Bryant would never say the horrible things about his father that Barbara insinuated that he did.

Jessica refuses to let Bonnie go to New York and threatens to cut her off if she goes. When Jen arrives, Bonnie complains that she can no longer play her parents against each other, and vows that she will model in the BRO show. Isaac convinces Jessica that Bonnie should make her own decisions. Bonnie is surprised that he stood up for her, and impulsively kisses him. Billy meets up with Jen, telling her he lied to Craig about Bryant and told him that he wanted to be with her. He asks her if they can pick up where they left off, and they decide to go out on a date when she returns from New York.

Katie and Simon share a piece of their wedding cake. Simon apologizes, saying it was a mistake to not give Katie a chance to be his wife until now. After she tells him about the wedding she dreamed of when she was young, Simon goes next door to Craig's to ask for his help to make her dream wedding come true. Craig refuses to foot the bill, and Katie arrives as they start to argue. She surprises them by asking Craig what she and Simon can do to help him get over losing Bryant. Katie deduces that Craig's bad mood is about Carly, and tells him he should follow her to New York.

Barbara rips into Paul for hiring Jen behind her back and insists on participating in the fashion show. Paul warns that the press will attack her, and convinces her not to go by giving her a sample of the cruel questions she can expect to hear. Paul takes the dress that was sent to Barbara and goes out to the gazebo, shouting for his father to show himself. Inside, Barbara, thinking that Craig sent the dress, vows to take him down.

At Java Underground Ben and Isaac put up a banner announcing their new "College Night" as Bonnie counts down in French in anticipation of her trip to New York. Isaac tells Bonnie to have a good time and Ben is surprised by Isaac's civility to Bonnie. Isaac explains that she kissed him. Bonnie has "the hots for him." Ben wonders if Isaac feels the same.

Jennifer comes to Java Underground to meet Bonnie where a car is picking them up for their trip. Adam arrives and wishes Jennifer good luck. Abigail and some college girls enter and announce that Abigail won the award for best documentary, a true accomplishment since she is only a freshman. Adam and Abigail see each other across the room. Adam tells Jennifer that he and Abigail handed in separate versions of the project they were supposed to be working on together. He explains that Nick Scutter helped Abigail with hers. Jen goes over to Abigail and congratulates her. Jen says she is so happy about New York and doesn't know if she'll come back. Abigail tells Jen to come back for her and Billy. Jen says Billy wants to start dating but it's so hard and confusing. Abigail tells Jen that running away to New York is not a solution, that you can't run away from problems because they will catch up with you. She stops in mid sentence when she talks about the abandoned warehouse where she first met Bryant. They hug and say good-bye. Adam starts to leave but Abigail calls out to him. They talk and she tells Adam that he is jealous of Nick and is tired of defending him. Adam feels that Nick "got in the middle of a good thing we had." Abigail leaves, holding her award. One of the college girls that had entered with Abigail walks over to Adam. She is a senior but they are in the same class. They talk about Abigail and the girl's ex-boyfriend. She gives Adam her phone number and invites him to a party. He says he has to go and as he leaves, he looks at the number, smiles and mouths "Wow!"

Bonnie and Jessica say good- bye. Jessica can't believe that her daughter is all grown up and tells her that when she sees her daughter in a magazine, she will be so proud of her. They hug and Bonnie and Jen are off. Jessica sighs from having to deal with her difficult daughter. Jessica and Ben talk about Bonnie. She admits that Bonnie can "gets to you-- she pushes like crazy." Ben starts asking questions about Bonnie and Jessica figures that Isaac wants to know. She says she can't picture Bonnie and Isaac together and the reservations are about her daughter, not Isaac. She worries that her daughter has lived such a fantasy life and that Bonnie will never think any one is good enough for her. Jessica feels horrible for feeling this way but Ben reassures her that she is honest and perceptive, not a horrible mother. Ben says people don't know how to share their lives. Jessica's beeper goes off and she leaves. Isaac comes over and Ben says Isaac should forget about Bonnie, she's too high maintenance and she makes him nervous. Isaac disagrees with Ben and insists he's not nervous even though he dried the same glass three times.

As Carly packs for New York, Molly talks about Nick and tells Carly there is no need for him to be friends with Abigail. Molly trusts her daughter but she remembers what it was like to be eighteen. Molly says Jake knows about her past relationship with Nick and how he set her up to go to prison but she can't tell Abigail. As Carly finishes packing, Molly tells her cousin that the next stop is "Carly Tenney Originals." Molly can see that Carly is nervous. Carly explains that it is because Jack has this feeling that something really bad is going to happen to her. It's "a gut thing" and it involves James Stenbeck. Carly wonders, "What if Jack's right? " She can't help thinking about it. Molly gets upset and starts unpacking Carly's suitcase. She tells her not to do the fashion show. Carly says she has to do the show because now she finally has enough money for food and for a normal life with Parker. She is doing the New York show not only to make a name for herself but also because it is her only chance to make a good life for Parker. Carly tells Molly that she wouldn't run away from a bright future, especially if it was for her daughter, so Molly agrees that Carly should go to New York but makes her promise to call twice a day. Molly tells Carly she is so proud of her.

Paul says good-bye to Barbara and tells her that once again, BRO will be back on top. Barbara says she was angry that he hired Jen without talking to her but she apologizes for her reaction. She asks him if there is anything else she needs to know. Paul tells his mother that everything he has done since he has been back in town has been for her. Barbara says, "A lie told with the best intentions is still a lie." Paul agrees and says they both learned that from his father.

Paul and Jack talk about the missing dress and how. James was at the auditions. Paul tells Jack he made it seem like Craig was responsible to throw his mother off. Jack says Paul should protect his family and cancel the show. Paul says it's not an option because he and Carly worked too hard for this and it is the last chance to keep BRO afloat and return a successful company to his mother. Paul hires Jack to watch Barbara when Paul leaves town. He says to protect his mother from his father. Jack said Carly could be walking into a set-up but Paul says he already has a security firm at the hotel in New York. Paul needs Jack to stay with Barbara because he became a part of it ever since the night at the boathouse. Jack flashes to the time at the gazebo when he told Barbara that James was back in town. Jack agrees with Paul, "Maybe I am the only man for the job." Of course, Barbara isn't to know about it. Jack agrees and says Paul better make sure nothing happens to Carly in New York or he will give him something to be afraid of.

Jack goes to Carly's apartment. They discuss the missing dress and how James was at the auditions, stole the dress and sent it to Barbara. Luckily, Paul covered and Barbara doesn't know it was Carly's design. Jack says he came over to wish Carly luck and Carly tells Jack how excited she is that her designs will be in the New York show. She says it means a lot to her that Jack believes in her. Jack tells her that Paul arranged security for her in New York and that Jack will be watching Barbara here. This way, they will know where she stands. Jack says he didn't mean to frighten Carly but if it made her cautious then he would do it again. Carly says she knows him well and understands that he wants to stay behind and secure her apartment. As Carly leaves, Jack says, "watch your back." "I always do," says Carly.

Barbara is alone in the house when James shows up. He tells Barbara that she doesn't see the deception. He says her instincts have also been damaged. James says he thought the dress would have given her the message and that the only person she thought she could trust has deceived her. Barbara tells him to leave or else she will call the police. James continues antagonizing her and tells her that her designs never made it into production. She says she'll call Paul because he is her support and he understands. James says that someone else has come in and taken over the designs. When he asks Barbara who she thinks that would be, Barbara guesses Carly.

At the TV station, Nick talks on the phone with "the stranger." He says, "Molly's kid will play right into my hands...she'll come to me." At that moment, Abigail walks in and Nick says he was thinking about her. She shows him her award and he says he is proud of her but she still shouldn't be there. Abigail thinks Molly talked to him but then realizes Jake was the one who put pressure on Nick to protect Abigail. She feels no one trusts her, not Molly, Jake, or Adam, and she asks Nick what's the big secret that everyone knows but her. Nick says he cares for her more than he should and that's probably what everyone is worried about. He says he is an ex-con and too old for her but Abigail says she feels inspired and important because of him. She says he is more than a friend and she won't let him walk out without a fight. She can't walk away from him. Nick dramatically tells Abigail to go away, that this can't be happening. Then, they kiss. Nick says they can't kiss again. He walks out of the room, closes the door and says "like taking candy from a baby."

In New York -- Carly and Paul are at the hotel. Carly asks, "What if something goes wrong?" Paul tells her to relax. He took care of the dress and Barbara believed him. Paul feels everything will workout and everyone will be winners. Bonnie and Jen arrive at BRO in New York. They are excited and comment how nice it is to be in the city and nowhere near Billy. Bonnie leaves to go look for a stylist. Jen looks at a picture of her mother on the wall. Then, she turns around to see Billy. -

He confirms Stenbeck's information and urges her to go to New York to see for herself exactly what has been going on. Simon asks Katie to marry him again in a more conventional manner, telling her he wants to make all her wildest dreams come true. She accepts, providing the astrological conditions are right. Simon gets exasperated with her and insists that she allow him to handle all the wedding arrangements on his own. He promises her she will have the wedding she's always wanted. Katie tells Simon that arranging the wedding is the most romantic thing she has ever heard, but she wants one little hint about it. He counters by telling her he is getting Lucinda to give him a job. Katie is pleased, but tells Simon she is scared. Simon tries to reassure her and tells her that sometimes you just have to let go and take a chance.

Ben gives Isaac a hard time about Bonnie, after Isaac asks him to serve as a substitute bartender for him. Rose comes in and asks Isaac if he is ready to go to New York. Ben reluctantly agrees to play bartender for awhile, but he is not very sure of himself. Jessica arrives looking for information about Bonnie. She comes to Ben's rescue when she realizes he has no idea how to make mixed drinks. Ben is impressed with Jessica's bartender savvy until he discovers she has been using a bartender guidebook to mix drinks. Lisa arrives and tells both of them they need to be more spontaneous and live a little. She encourages them to go to New York to see the BRO fashion show and they decide to go.

In New York, Paul gives the models some last-minute encouragement. Jen thanks him and tells him how much she needed the modeling job. They talk about what will happen when Barbara finds out they have deceived her. Paul tells Jen he takes full responsibility for the deception. Jen tells Paul she sees how hard he has been working to keep BRO together and apologizes to him for giving him such a hard time since he got back to Oakdale.

Carly finds Barbara in her hotel room. She tries to call Paul, but Barbara won't let her. Barbara then asks Carly why she is in New York. Carly tells her she is there because she is trying to establish a career in fashion. Barbara asks Carly how she managed to get a suite in the middle of the BRO contingent; Carly replies that Paul was kind enough to let her stay there. Barbara picks up the press releases to look at them, but Carly stops her. She suggests that Barbara might not want to be at the fashion show and at the mercy of the press because it might be too stressful for her. She again starts to call Paul, but Barbara grabs the phone out of her hands. She tries to force Carly to go downstairs and backstage with her, but just as they approach the hotel door, Craig arrives and demands that Barbara let go of Carly. He tells Carly that Barbara is aware of what is going on and Barbara sarcastically asks Carly if Carly didn't think she was smart enough to figure out that her son and the town "whore" were conspiring behind her back. She then tells Carly in a gloating way that she now has the money from Bryant's trust fund. Carly is aghast and asks Barbara how she can be so cruel. She gets angry and tells Barbara that everyone has been bending over backwards to be kind to her because they felt sorry for her after all she had been through.

Billy finds Jen and tells her he wants to take her out after the show and Jen says she is ready. Jack arrives and asks Paul where Carly is. He tells Paul that Stenbeck was arrested, but not before he got to Barbara. Paul asks an assistant where his mother is and finds out that she is in Carly's hotel room.

Rose and Isaac talk on the plane and she tries to get him to admit that he is developing feelings for Bonnie. Isaac mentions that Carly was at the modeling audition and was very upset when one of the design dresses disappeared. Rose wonders what Carly would have been doing at Java consulting with Paul and begins to put two and two together. She realizes that Paul hired Carly to create the designs for the BRO spring fashion show and gets really angry when she realizes what Paul has done.

In Carly's hotel room, Barbara threatens to stop the fashion show and expose Carly as a fraud. Paul and Jack arrive and Barbara confronts Paul about what he has done. Carly asks to speak to Jack alone to find out how Barbara got away from him. He tells her about Stenbeck and she tells him what Barbara is trying to do. Paul tries to explain to his mother that he was trying to help her and she caustically rejects the idea that Carly would ever try to help her. She is furious with Paul for lying to her. Paul is honest with Barbara when she asks him whether he thought her designs were no good. He assures her that nothing has changed and no one will know the designs being shown are not hers. Barbara suddenly seems to give up and Jack assures Paul he will see that she gets back to Oakdale safely. Carly asks Paul why Barbara will still get credit for the designs even though she now knows the truth and Paul vows that he is not going to hurt Barbara any more than he already has.

Bonnie and Jennifer are reveling in their good luck when a reporter shows up and asks Jen how it feels to be the BRO Original. The reporter tells Jen she has no idea what is about to happen to her. Billy shows up to wish Jen good luck and one of the handlers tells him to leave the models alone. Billy leaves and encounters the reporter who interviewed Jen earlier. He tells the reporter he and Jen are "close friends", but she tells him he may as well forget about it because Jennifer is about to become the modeling world's hottest newcomer.

Jack takes Barbara to the New York airport. He watches until she goes through the ticketed passenger gate. He wants to get back to the hotel and Carly, so he asks one of the ticket clerks to be sure they keep Barbara in sight at all times. Craig shows up at Carly's hotel room dressed in a tuxedo. She thanks him for helping keep Barbara under control and then asks him to leave while she dresses. Back at the show, Paul asks Jack if Barbara left on the flight for Oakdale. He thanks Jack for helping him and Jack asks him to do the right thing and let everyone know that the fashion show dresses are actually Carly's designs. He tells Jack he doesn't have time just then and starts to walk off when Rose arrives. She overheard Jack confirming that the dresses are Carly's designs and slaps Paul in anger for deceiving her before she walks off.

Craig arrives back at Carly's room with a jewelry box in hand. She refuses to accept it, but he opens it to reveal an "I Love New York" key chain. She laughs and is then surprised when Craig opens another box with an expensive diamond necklace in it. She tells Craig she cannot accept it, but allows him to put in around her neck anyway. Carly tells Craig she is really glad he is with her and thinks it might turn out to be her greatest night after all.

At the airport, one of the clerks alerts the flight attendant about not letting Barbara Ryan out of her sight. The attendant says Barbara told her she had to return to the terminal because she left some medication behind. They look for her, but cannot find her. When they leave, Barbara appears from behind a door where she has been hiding....
