Laura's wayward son is supposed to be transferred to a new prison on General Hospital, but does Adam Huss's return mean a change of plans?

According to Soap Opera Digest, Adam Huss, who was last seen as General Hospital's dark prince Nikolas Cassadine in February, will be back on your screens next week in scenes with Nik's ex-wife Ava Jerome, played by Maura West.

Nikolas' mother Laura just told Ava that her son is being sent to a prison outside New York, and she feared she wouldn't be able to visit him as often. Does Ava go visit him so that she can say goodbye to her ex or just taunt him?

Huss began his time on GH as a temporary Nikolas in 2021 when Marcus Coloma needed some time off. After Coloma exited the show, Huss was brought back to finish Nikolas' storyline. The character was presumed dead for months after Ava conked him over the head with a gargoyle statue.

Viewers later learned that Dr. Austin Holt secretly saved Nik's life. Once Nikolas was well again, he chose to allow Ava to believe he was dead and his family to believe he left town to avoid being jailed for kidnapping pregnant Esme Prince and holding her hostage in a Wyndemere tower. In February, Laura convinced her son to turn himself in and face the consequences of his actions.

Huss has made no secret of his desire to keep playing Nikolas whenever the show needs him, but there is no word yet as to whether General Hospital will bring the character back on a more permanent basis.

As his final February scenes aired, Huss praised co-star Genie Francis (Laura Webber) on Instagram, saying, "What an honor to work opposite this powerhouse and to be playing the son of #GenieFrancis on @generalhospitalabc Amazing scene partner!"
