Brief Character History
Nash initially met Tess Buchanan in New York City. Although their relationship began on rocky grounds, Nash and Tess soon found themselves falling in love and moved to Napa, where Nash had recently purchased a winery. They began planning their future together, but Nash discovered that Tess wasn't really her own person -- she was an alternate personality for Jessica Buchanan. Nash fought with Antonio Vega and Jessica for Tess, especially once he learned that Tess was carrying a baby that could belong to him, but ultimately lost when Tess chose to say goodbye after the birth of baby Brennan. Nash was soon revealed to be the father, but with Jessica out full time, Nash consoled himself with ex-girlfriend Claudia Reston, who had been committed to an institution after her break-up with Nash, and was instrumental in helping her when she accidentally killed her father, George, when he was assaulting Nash.
After selling his winery in Napa, Nash returned to Llanview to see his daughter. Upon his return, Antonio ordered Nash to stay away from Brennan and get out of his home. Realizing that he had no other option, Nash planned to kidnap Jessica and Brennan in order to try and force Tess out of Jessica. Claudia gave Antonio the information that led him to find where Nash was hiding Jessica and Brennan. Once Jessica and Tess were integrated, Nash broke down and turned to the bottle and his ex, Claudia, in order to find relief for his pain. This relationship with Claudia angered Jessica and caused Nash to become suspicious of her new behavior.
Having finally decided to turn his life around in order to be there for his daughter, Nash got clean. He started working on his new winery in Llanview and with Antonio's help (financial backing), Nash started working on the construction of the buildings on the land he owned. In order to have a bit more money to raise his daughter, Nash also took a job as the manager at Capricorn. Jessica and Antonio got engaged and left Nash devastated. He then proceeded to try and convince Jessica that she was not the same person as before the integration and shouldn't marry Antonio. The wedding did take place and Nash was in the wedding party. Nash later became Jessica's pet project as she tried to find a woman for him. During this time, Nash developed feelings for Jessica and tried to show her by kissing her and surprising her in ways she couldn't imagine. Jessica fought her feelings for Nash until the night Capricorn was set on fire by the arsonist and they were both alone in a storage room. Jessica and Nash finally confessed their love to one another.
Keeping in mind that Jessica was still married to Antonio, Nash pressured Jessica to make a decision between the two men. After speaking with Marty, Jessica decided that Antonio was the man she loved and wanted to be with and broke off her secret relationship with Nash. After running out of Jamie's adoption hearing, Nash found Jessica at the Quarry and they finally made love. Jessica then decided to leave Antonio for Nash. She went to the hospital to tell Antonio where she promptly collapsed. The secret didn't come out! Nash and Jessica continued to have a secret relationship even though Antonio thought that they couldn't stand each other at all. Nash was prevented by Antonio to see Jessica and eventually Jessica broke down and told Antonio that she loved Nash. Antonio left the two together and ran off to Spain. Later, Jessica and Nash found out that Antonio was a positive match for a liver donation and needed to find him. Nash sought him out and convinced him to return. Antonio went through with the liver transplant but swore that he would never forgive Nash or Jessica.
Nash and Jessica were finally together with their daughter Brennan (aka Bree). At Jessica's divorce hearing, she collapsed again and this time Nash was there to help her. He brought her to the hospital where they learned that her body was rejecting Antonio's liver and she needed a new liver. Nash then proposed to Jessica (on the same day as her divorce hearing!) and they got married before she went into surgery. After the surgery, Nash was there for Jessica and even took her on a honeymoon in her hospital room.
