Perhaps the age old mantra that "nice guys finish last" really is true after all. This year's big winners in The Bold and the Beautiful edition of the Soap Opera Central are both less than upstanding members of the B&B scene.

In terms in number of wins, Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe) was the big winner. The newcomer captured four wins, including the Outstanding Lead Actor category. Kanan's Lead Actor win was quite convincing; Kanan had about six times as many votes as the second place finisher in the category.

Kanan was also named the Most Attractive Male Performer and Deacon Sharpe, Kanan's character, was voted Favorite Character.

Also on Kanan's victory list was a win in a tough Outstanding Newcomer field. While Kanan cruised to an easy victory, the category was crowded with talent and multiple nominees. In winning, Kanan defeated Paulo Benedeti (Antonio Dominguez), Joseph Mascolo (Massimo Marone) and Tracey Melchior (Kristen Forrester). With the exception of Mascolo, all of the nominees in the Newcomer category were nominated for at least three awards.

Benedeti was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actor trophy with on-screen love interest Melchior finishing second to Jennifer Finnigan (Bridget Forrester) in the Supporting Actress field.

Mascolo, though winless in the B&B voting, did manage to win a Dankie this year. Mascolo was named Most Missed Performer on the Days of our Lives ballot for his work as DAYS' Stefano DiMera.

Though she picked up just two awards, Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Forrester) could arguably be the biggest winner of the year. Lang earned a win in the Outstanding Lead Actress category. Lang was a runner-up in the category last year to Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore).

However more impressively, Lang eked out a victory in the Outstanding Overall Performer field with just a handful more votes that second place Kanan. Again, Lang finished second to Frantz last year.

Frantz was not without a win this year. The actress earned a win in the Outstanding Younger Performer category.

In the closest battle in recent Dankies memory, the Favorite Storyline battle was decided by just two votes. "Captive Audience," a storyline involving Morgan DeWitt's kidnapping of Steffy and Taylor Forrester just sneaked by "Whoa, Momma," the tale of Brooke sleeping with Deacon.
