What a difference a year can make. Nominated for just one Soap Opera Central Award last year, this year Kyle Brandon Lowder (Brady Black) went five-for-five in the Days of our Lives edition of the Dankies.

Entering the final ballot, Lowder led the pack with the most nominations and it was widely expected that he'd capitalize on most of the nominations. It's unclear just how many folks expected him to win in each of those categories.

Lowder's first victory was an easy win. With a whopping 69% of the total vote, Lowder picked up his very first Outstanding Supporting Actor crown. In the win, Lowder defeated Kevin Spirtas (Craig Wesley), Matt Cedeno (Brandon Walker) and Austin Peck (Austin Reed).

For his second win, Lowder edged out a victory in the Outstanding Younger Performer field. His margin of win was not nearly as wide as in the Supporting Actor category.

Lowder was also voted the Most Attractive Actor and his character, Brady Black, was voted the Favorite Character.

But the biggest win for Lowder came in the Outstanding Overall Performer field. Each of the Lead and Supporting Actor and Actress nominees are placed into the Overall Performer field. Voters are then asked to select one of the 16 nominees that they feel turned in the best overall performance.

While Lowder dominated the awards, there were, in fact, other winners. The only other multiple winner was Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady). Alfonso earned a second straight Outstanding Lead Actress win. Likewise, Alfonso earned a second consecutive Most Attractive Actress trophy.

Alfonso's on-screen love, Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) was voted Outstanding Lead Actor.

The now-departed Joseph Mascolo (ex-Stefano DiMera) was voted the Most Missed Performer. Mascolo was also nominated as Outstanding Newcomer for his work on The Bold and the Beautiful last year. Mascolo, however, did not pick up a victory on the B&B side of the ballot.

In a strange turn of balloting events, MacDonald Carey (ex-Tom Horton) earned the win in the Outstanding Special Guest/Recurring Performer thanks to the miracles of modern technology. Through the use of old video clips, DAYS execs had brought back the late actor in its 2000 Christmas episode. This qualified Carey for a spot on the ballot - and fans voted overwhelmingly for the actor.

Last year's big winner Kirsten Storms (Belle Black) was held to just one award win this year -- Outstanding Supporting Actress.
