Brooke offered her home as the official location for Hope and Liam's wedding. He joked that he was fine marrying her anywhere, but Beth wanted more grandiose fanfare. Beth tried on a dress for the wedding, and she asked if it was a good fit for the ceremony and if they were excited to plan their own outfits. When they had a moment alone, Liam asked how things went with her conversation with Carter. Hope confessed that although Carter was supportive, he wouldn't be the officiant. Liam wanted someone close to them to do the honors. Beth threw her name into the ring of potential contenders.

They tried to explain to Beth that she wasn't old enough or official enough to perform the ceremony. Still, she wanted the chance to marry her mommy and daddy in front of their loved ones. They contemplated the idea because Beth was exactly what they were looking for in someone to officiate their wedding. She was elated and grateful for the opportunity, and she ran upstairs to begin preparing.

Daphne thought Hope would be overjoyed at the relaunch of Hope For The Future, but Carter stayed silent while she spoke. She asked if they were still in communication, and he admitted that they had a conversation about her engagement to Liam. Daphne asked if the rumors of the engagement were true, and he confirmed the news. She knew it may have been difficult for Carter to hear the news from Hope after they had recently ended their own engagement.

Carter admitted that Hope and Liam's engagement threw him for a loop. Daphne was supportive and understood if Carter had lingering resentment or sadness about the news since their relationship had just come to an end. However, Carter confessed he was happy for his former fiancée. Daphne knew Carter would be happy for Hope because of his capacity for kindness. The main thing Carter wanted for Hope was genuine happiness, and he was looking forward to finding the same. Carter considered Daphne his new beginning, and she wouldn't let him kiss her in the CEO's office. He joked that she was making him work for it, which was something he was more than prepared to do.

At Il Giardino, Sheila wondered if anyone on staff had encountered Deacon, but she kept hitting dead ends. She sent another text to Deacon, but it had become radio silence. Li returned to the restaurant to check on Sheila after the previous threat she made on Taylor's life. Sheila thought Li was more concerned with Taylor than her, which rubbed her the wrong way. Sheila questioned what would happen if Taylor pushed Deacon in the opposite direction of reconciliation.

Sheila knew she should've been upfront with Deacon from the beginning about Luna, and Li encouraged her that it wasn't too late. If she reverted to her changed self, she had the potential to win back her husband. Sheila was appreciative of Li's concern, and she wished Taylor shared her same level of support. Li asked Sheila to be patient because rebuilding what they previously had was not going to happen overnight. Sheila blamed herself for seeking professional help because it was driving her mad that she didn't have an inside scoop on their therapy sessions. Her future was in Taylor's hands, and she was stuck on the outside looking in.

Deacon stopped by Taylor's office and was overjoyed that she made time to see him. She admitted it wasn't an official session, and their visit wasn't a therapy session. It was a conversation about their personal connection. Taylor questioned if Deacon understood the difference between that conversation and their previous doctor-patient encounters. He understood their last interaction crossed many ethical lines, but he couldn't get it off his mind.

Deacon didn't think the sparks came out of nowhere, but Taylor insisted it couldn't happen again. She was his psychiatrist, and he was married to another woman, so it wasn't a line they could cross without monumental ramifications. Deacon felt like whatever moment they had was something that couldn't be misconstrued as something else, and she subtly encouraged him to make things work with his wife. Deacon wondered if she was speaking about them instead of him and Sheila, but she explained that there was nothing between them beyond the bounds of their professional capacity.

Deacon eventually returned home, and Sheila issued another round of quickfire apologies. She said, "I hated lying to you and about Luna. I was such a fool. I never wanted to let you down or have you lose faith in me. Everything I learned about integrity, I learned it from you. You showed me what real love is and how it can change a person. I just made a terrible mistake. I wish I could take it all back." Deacon didn't want to hurt Sheila or continue to punish her. He thought honesty was their only way of existing, and he couldn't fathom why she withheld this from him. He understood that everyone makes mistakes, and although he remained hurt and upset, he wasn't ready to throw in the towel on their marriage.

Sheila wrapped her arms around him, and she was thrilled to have a second chance with Deacon. She was certain he wanted to end things, and she asked if his clarity was because of Taylor. Sheila questioned if Taylor found a way to open his heart enough to allow her back in.

Back at Taylor's office, she thought about the intimate moment she shared with Deacon. Things flashed back to Deacon and Sheila at the same time, and although it looked like he was recommitted to his marriage, his mind was firmly on Taylor, and hers was the same. If Sheila had any idea what they were thinking about each other, everyone would be in grave danger.
