Days of our Lives Recap, September 29-October 3, 2025: Citizens deal with the aftermath of the blackout

What happened on Days of our Lives

Marlena confessed to Susan that she had been dreaming of Stefano. Susan asked if Marlena was afraid of possession, but Marlena said no. Susan offered to sit with Marlena while she slept so that Marlena could feel safe enough to rest.

EJ and Belle bickered in the elevator during the blackout. After an asthma attack, Belle calmed. EJ agreed to honor John’s wishes for his gift to the hospital. Overnight, EJ continued to insist that there was still an attraction between him and Belle, but she stressed that EJ’s actions had killed any affection she had had for him. Belle had a more severe asthma attack, but fortunately, the power returned, and she was able to leave the elevator.

Rachel and Thomas fought over a game when Rachel cheated. Frustrated, Rachel blurted out that Chad was hiding his girlfriend, Cat. Rachel told Thomas that Cat had pretended to be Thomas’ mother when she had first arrived in town. Upset, Thomas told Julie he was not feeling well.

Chad and Cat played a trivia game and talked about their pasts during the blackout. Chad and Cat made love for the first time, and they agreed to tell everyone about their relationship. When Chad returned home the next day, he asked Thomas if he was okay. Thomas called Chad a liar.

Leo rescued Gwen from the construction site of the free clinic. Leo said he had received a tip about the blackout having originated in the area. Gwen lied and said she had gotten locked in during a tour when EJ had run off. Leo pleaded with Gwen to leave with him rather than stay out of spite. Gwen yelled at EJ for having abandoned her, but EJ explained that he had been trapped in an elevator overnight.

Paulina threatened to sue EJ since the power surge had emanated from the clinic, but EJ warned Paulina to back off or suffer a whirlwind of bad press. Gwen met up with Cat for lunch, and she talked about her ordeal. Gwen advised Cat to ignore the Horton family’s dirty looks.

The bookstore was broken into during the blackout. As the police covered the square to stop the looting and enforce the curfew, JJ stopped Theo. Theo was shaken by the experience, and he argued that JJ’s judgment had not improved because he had escalated a simple situation. Theo accused JJ of continuing to have too strong a racial bias to continue as a cop. JJ seemed to take the words of his friend to heart.

Xander and Sarah made love through the night of the blackout. Xander hoped that it meant that they would not have to do couples therapy, but Sarah argued that it was more important than ever. Xander reluctantly agreed. After the lights came on, Sarah decided to stay the night.

Stephanie was forced to admit to Kayla and EJ that she was Anastasia Sands. EJ agreed to keep quiet about Stephanie’s alias if she continued to work for him. When Stephanie worried aloud about whether EJ would use the information against her, Alex suggested that Stephanie reveal her identity as Anastasia Sands. Stephanie opened up to Alex about her abusive relationship with Jeremy Horton and why she wanted to wait to come forward as Anastasia. Alex assured Stephanie that she was not to blame for her ex’s behavior. Jeremy returned to Salem, and he visited a visibly shaken Stephanie.

Holly knocked over a candle in her drunken sleep, and Brady saved her from the resulting fire in her dorm. Holly suffered smoke inhalation but was fine. When Tate checked on her, Holly refused to get back together with him. Maggie talked to Holly about the implications of her drinking. Kayla confirmed that Holly had had a large amount of alcohol in her system, and Holly blamed the lack of food since she had only had two drinks.

During the social services visit to Chanel and Johnny’s home, the social worker told Johnny and Chanel that the mother of Tesoro had objected to the adoption. The mother had accused Johnny of having an affair with a student. The social worker looked at Johnny’s phone, and there were sexy photos of Holly from her phone. Chanel blamed Johnny for ruining their shot at adopting Tesoro, but she realized he was innocent after they talked.

Sophia erased Holly’s phone and held on to it to cover her tracks. When Holly attempted to find her phone, she learned that location services had been turned off.

Kayla told Brady that Tate was not a DNA match for Tesoro. When Johnny told Brady about the birth mother's accusation and the sext from Holly, Brady was concerned that the birth mother knew Holly. Brady asked Kayla to run the DNA test again.
