Days of our Lives taped its landmark 15,000th episode on April 11, 2024. The episode will also pay tribute to Bill Hayes and the character he portrayed, Doug Williams. Hayes passed away on January 12. A memorial service for Doug will air on December 3.
To mark the occasion, the show hosted an event on set with a host of familiar faces that will be making their comebacks to bid Hayes and Doug farewell. Some of the DAYS names returning include Melissa Reeves, Matthew Ashford, Gloria Loring, Stephen Schnetzer, Maree Cheatham, and Victoria Konefal.
Judi Evans, who played Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis off and on from 1986 to 2019 and has played Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis off and on since 2003, shared some special snaps from the day on social media.
Evans was proud to reunite with her Johnson siblings and their respective others, posting a photo of herself with Reeves, Ashford, Stephen Nichols, Mary Beth Evans, and Wally Kurth. She wrote alongside it: "Johnson Family Holiday Card. Jo Johnson would be beaming," with Jo being the Johnson family mom who currently lives out of town.
However, another on-set DAYS reunion Evans posted takes fans back to Another World, meaning the NBC soap that left the airwaves in 1999 as it turned 35 years old. Schnetzer, who got his soap start as Steven Olson on DAYS and will reprise the role for Doug's funeral, played Cass Winthrop on AW from 1982 till 1999. He posed for a pic with Evans, who played Bay City's Paulina Cory on AW from 1991 to 1999.
Next to the snap, Evans typed out the start to the longtime AW theme song performed by country stars Crystal Gayle and Gary Morris. "You are my way, to Another World," she wrote, and classic soap fans knew just what she meant.
Linda Dano, who was AW's Felicia Gallant from 1983 to 1999 and most recently appeared as Vivian Alamain on DAYS in 2021, saw the pic and chimed in with: "My fabulous Another World favorites. You both look amazing."
