"He's so sweet," says Brad Pitt while talking about Tom Cruise
While in a conversation with E! News, Brad Pitt was asked about his response to Tom Cruise's appreciation for the upcoming film of Pitt, F1. In his response, Brad Pitt fondly remembers his early memories with Tom Cruise when they worked together on Interview with the Vampire.
He mentions that they used to hang out after their shoots, as they would go for fun go-kart sessions. Pitt says:
"Oh, it's so sweet. You know, he's sweet. Yeah, we did have our go-kart days back in the 90s, early 90s."
And then, the largely anticipated question of the possibility of a collaboration between the two stars popped up. That is when the Fight Club star placed the humorous condition of him not doing those high-stakes airplane stunts like Tom Cruise does, as he is extremely popular and revered for performing those in his films. His most recent stunt scenes are witnessed in the newly released film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
Upon which, the interviewer went back to the duo's go-karting memories, and asked Pitt who was speedier in those go-kart races. To which, Brad Pitt says:
"He got me in the end. I got to tell you. I got to admit."
It is no surprise. We all know Tom Cruise's high level of extraordinary physical abilities. The Day and Knight actor is iconic for performing not just stunts but also partaking in diverse and the hardest adventurous physical activities possible. And oh yes, not to forget, his signature running scenes!
In fact, the helmer of F1, Joseph Kosinski, spoke to GQ about Cruise as well as Pitt. He mentions:
“Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled,”
“They both have the natural talent for driving. But yeah, I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.”
Pitt's F1 is a sports feature film slated to release in the United States on June 27, 2025. His co-stars include Damson Idris, Tobias Menzies, Kerry Condon, and Kim Bodnia, among many others.
Meanwhile, Cruise's freshest release, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, marks the concluding film of the franchise. Upon its release, it received rave reviews as well as a successful box office performance.
